The Poona police department has made the historic move of trusting its own civilians more than criminals and terrorists. It seems so simple, yet this
is the first example I've seen where a police department is actively trying to enrol civilians in shooting proficiency programs to improve public
safety.
One of the most heartening measures I've read about in the aftermath of 26/11.
Very encouraging to see that at least some people still have got a sense of "common sense". I only hope that the instructors put a good emphasis on
weapon safety.
If only more people would finally come to their senses and accept that freedom and security aren't mutually exclusive.
As a Responsible Citizen, I would like to be the first to Enrole for this service and in times of emergency I will be ready for any service asked by
the police.
