The outgoing White House administration will next week hold a joint "disaster scenario" exercise with top members of the incoming team of president-elect Barack Obama, US officials said Friday.

"I'm not going to go into the details of it, but it is a disaster scenario where the government would be very much tested," White House spokesman Scott Stanzel said.

It is an exercise scenario, a hypothetical scenario that is designed to test and tax the capabilities of the federal government...

Government continuity?
Is the government becoming more and more AFRAID of its people that they must test themselves agaisnt possible revolution and civil unrest?

How to "handle" them.
"Shape" them,

I hope everyone has been following the gradual but steady transformation of "change we can believe in" into "meet the new boss, same as the old boss.". I saw something yesterday that said the Obama team has been discussing and arranging for Bush to veto any denial of the remainder of the TARP money to ensure it is available from day one for Obama AND to ensure Obama isn't the one who has to veto this early in his term.

Yep, Obama sure is for change.
As the posters above indicated, this is just another indication that it will be business as usual, under the Obama Administration. Now they will all know how to execute false flag operations. Head for the shelters people whenever an "exercise" occurs. Anyone have an old bomb shelter from the 1950's for sale?

No... Obama isn't corrupt like Bush is. You have to know the difference between Bush and Obama.

Bush is a psychopath.

Obama isn't.

There is a huge difference between the two.

One has ethics, the other doesn't.

Obama is a liberal, Bush is a neoconservative.

They think differently.

I want to try one!

Make sure those false flags don't start flying on the same day.

Be extremely vigilant and note, photograph, record and document anything that the Feds do that day. Have your cameras and mobile phones out ready and charged. Use information against them. Spy on them every step of the way, whatever they are doing that day. Ask for ID badges and names, if you're ordered to do anything.

All of us were caught out on 9/11. Don't let it happen again.

I carry my little fuji digital camera just about everywhere. Actually I got out of a traffic ticket right by the Capitol Bldg in DC because I took pictures of exactly where my car was. I also took pictures of the signs that directed me it was ok to park there. Arm yourself with a camera at all times.

What change? He's going to hold high the torch of "government spending" that Bush is about ready to hand over to him.

Actual change would be to stop the recklessness and try a whole new approach....which is to cut spending DRAMATICALLY...lower taxes...DRAMATICALLY. Throwing more taxpayer money at problems that will have to be paid back when most of us already work half the year just for taxes is not a fix. This is not change.

I don't understand it. The election of Obama was historic and i'm happy for African Americans because of it...but we need to see our problems for what they are and face reality.

We need to change our mindset of continuing to enlarge and empower our government to control every facet of our lives.

Obama is not going in that direction...he's going in the exact opposite.

Obama says that government is the only one who can fix this mess....the sames ones responsible for creating it and making it worse with each spending bill they make us eat.

Remember Biden and Powell talking about the 21st and 22nd of January? I don't know what could be happening, but they have indicated something is about to happen around that time. This exercise will be about one week earlier... Biden is talking about a 'generated crisis' Unless he agree with me that the economic crisis is generated, he could only mean a war or terrorist attack, in my opinion. Wouldn't be surprised if there's a relation to Israel and Iran.

Well Well Well So there it is right in front of our faces and laid out in plain view! I really have had the comments by Colin Powell and Joe Biden on my mind since they announced the imminent generated CRISIS soon after Obama takes power (for those cared to listen)

I for one am not surpised, just take a look at the network news and see how quickly they are all exposing more and more doom and gloom every day. I challenged myself today to a tour of the world ( not physically) to take a close look at all regions of the world not only financially but also in general level of turmoil. Im not going to give any results because I believe we here on ATS should be always doing a check and balance of facts and the state of earth on our own. Try it and write the pro's and cons on 1 sheet. This is a real eye opener!!!

Now in Canada we too have been told that we are in desperate times ahead and funny enough Obama's first state visit is going to be Canada.

Hey! Maybe they are going to disclose details on COG, and whether the state of emergency (and the formal standing up of the shadow government) was ever rescinded after being declared on (shortly before?) 9/11. Watch for changes in behavior and policy lines from Comrade O.
