Spiritual/Paranormal Book Club Thread!

Hi Guys,
Been realy getting into this subject lately, and have been building up a book list to read. The trouble is that there are ALOT of books out there!
Just thought it would be a good idea if everyone can pull together from all different topics such as:

Souls
Astral Projection
Power of The Mind
Spirit Guides
Spiritual Advancement

That kind of stuff, and recommend and discuss some of the literature out there with the hope of giving someone the gift of knowledge and hopefully change them for the better, as some of the things i have been reading lately have been doing for me.

Can I ask to keep the dicussion, opinions of the topic matters to the minimum though as there are plenty of threads out there with that kind of information already on, and try and restrict it to the discussions of the books themselves if that makes sense?

Sorry if my words seem twisted, hopefully someone will get the idea!

Amazing book in my opinion for anyone wanting to learn more about Astral Projection. The author gives backround on eight different techniques, then describes the techniques and then comments and lists a bibliography after each one. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

You should probably know that most of the books out there are pure garbage. With that said it's probably best to start with the basics, so I suggest Beelzebub's Tales to His Grandson by G.I. Gurdjieff, In Search of the Miraculous: Fragments of an Unknown Teaching by P.D. Ouspensky, and the Gnosis books by Boris Mouravieff.

I have to say i havn't ever heard of Gurdjieff untill you mentioned in. Done a bit of reading today and he seems very intellectual and his work seems to have deeply touched alot of people. I will be sure to read some of his work as soon as I get the chance, Thanks for the recommendation.

I agree (partly) with what you said about alot of the books being out there as being full of rubbish, but hopefully with the help of people like you we can list the credible ones and hopefully enlighten them if even a little.

Checked out the book online, from what i could gather its a fictional novel which i wouldn't be that interested in, but alot of people highly rate it. Would be good if you could drop a post telling us what its really about and what your take on it is. Thanks!

The above ebook is the first literature i read on astral projection and let me on to read 'leaving the body' by scott d rogo.

It was recommended by an ATS user named RobertPaulsim and I am really gratefull for him posting it as i feel it has really changed me for the better and it has given me somthing to believe in when i need it the most.

I would highly recommend it, and its free and an instand download, which is a bonus!

Some other books worth getting if you can find them (to my knowledge they're out of print) are The Zelator by Mark Hedsel and Power of the Pendulum by T.C. Lethbridge.

Again thank tou Xcalibur254 for contributing to the thread, and another two from what i gather highly rated books. I am definitly adding the 'power of the pendulum' to my list of books to read.

I thought this thread was pretty original and might have kicked off by now, any one else got anymore material to share on these subjects?

Anyone here into Reiki? I just "discovered" it about a month ago and it's really amazing. A good book to get is by Brett Bevell, called "The Reiki Magic Guide to Self- Attunement".

His ideas are really mind blowing, and it's a really great way to get Reiki going for the masses.

Just done some basic reading on Reiki, At first glance im slightly dubious at the fact that one on the original trainers stressed the importance on charging for the training.

But as i said, the point of this thread is not to argue peoples beliefs but providing the literature for people to make up their own minds. I am interested in the topic though and the fact that it emerged through a 21 day journey or discovery realy intrigues me, thank you for the post!

If you could tell us a little about the book and what it means to you, that would be great Coney.

Lots of great information in The Ancient Secret of the Flower of Life, vol 1 & 2 by Drunvalo Melchizedek.

These two books cover a lot of ground. The flower of life is a drawing that has appeared all over the world from ancient times onward. Drunvalo talks about sacred geometry as well as the history of humanity, the dimensional shift, chakras and on and on.
