israel lost the 6 day war in 1960 and WERE humiliated.

Doesn't seem that way here.

The Six-Day War (Arabic: حرب الأيام الستة‎, Ḥarb al‑Ayyam as‑Sitta or more commonly Arabic: حرب 1967‎, Ḥarb 1967; Hebrew: מלחמת ששת הימים‎, Milhemet Sheshet Ha‑Yamim), also known as the 1967 Arab-Israeli War, the Third Arab-Israeli War, Six Days' War, an‑Naksah (The Setback), or the June War, was fought between Israel and Arab neighbors Egypt, Jordan, and Syria. The nations of Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Tunisia, Morocco and Algeria also contributed troops and arms to the Arab forces.[5]

In May 1967, Egypt's president Nasser expelled the United Nations Emergency Force (UNEF) from the Sinai Peninsula.[6] The peacekeeping force had been stationed there since 1957, following a British-French-Israeli invasion which was launched during the Suez Crisis. Egypt amassed 1,000 tanks and nearly 100,000 soldiers on the Israeli border[7] and closed the Straits of Tiran to all ships flying Israeli flags or carrying strategic materials, receiving strong support from other Arab countries.[8] On June 5, 1967, Israel launched a pre-emptive attack[9] against Egypt's airforce. Jordan, which had signed a mutual defence treaty with Egypt on May 30, then attacked western Jerusalem and Netanya.[10][11][12] At the war's end, Israel had gained control of the Sinai Peninsula, the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and the Golan Heights. The results of the war affect the geopolitics of the region to this day.

If Israel lost the 6 day war, they would not exist today.
Oops on your part.

Oops on my part- didn't see that someone already found a source for the 6 day war.

Israel did not "lose" the 6-day war. In fact they gained major ground. Egypt and Syria made major strategic blunders during that battle.

When all was said and done, Israel had taken control of Gaza, the West Bank, East Jerusalem, the Golan Heights and the Sinai peninsula.

The war kicked off because Israel was siphoning water from the Jordan river. Egypt, Jordan and Syria tried to build a diversion dam to stop water from reaching Israel. So the IDF bombed the dam. This sparked more tension and eventually the 6-day war itself.

This was also the time when the USS Liberty was attacked by IDF forces.

I have been watching this since last night.. There has been constant gun fire.. Bombings, and so much going on!!! Some serious stuff going down here. and some very mean weapons being used to kill innocent people.

Alot of fighting is going on.. and I am guessing it has been this way for many days.. Reguardless.. Its maddness. and I hope this feed can teach people the reality of War.. And how it is on the ground over there..
Lets not get into petty debates.. Let us learn from this and take it from there.. I mean is there not enough fighting going on in this world.. We don't need to be fighting here.. Not right now..

ITs okay to have your thoughts, and opinions.. But lets keep it chill and mellow here, and just see what unfolds here.

As everyone has been doing a great job so far of doing so..

Its far to easy to watch this war going on.. and get all pissed off, and get over emotional about whats happening.. If you feel that about to happen to you.. Take a step back from the keyboard, and think about it before you post. This thread has been doing great all night, and all morning..
Lets keep it that way.. We are responsible for our own posts.. So Im not trying to enforce or police anyone.. Just a friendly note from one member to other members

Indeed the 7 day war was in 1967...I meant to say the 60's and got carried away.

I dont need to read wiki as there are much more in-depth sites for information.

Seems like the aerial situation is increasing...I hear more drones in the sky. More activity from the people on the street in the way of traffic and I've heard some voices also. I can hear larger vehicles moving below the cam. What time is it over there? Maybe 10:30 p.m. or so?

True. That would explain why it is so choppy.

The few pics that I have been able to find during day light there shows quite a bit of chaos.

Sunrise should be around 11:30- 12:00PM Eastern time USA.. Was about the time I saw the sunrise last night over there..
You could hear 2 rosters going back and forth, and then the prayers went over the loud speakers..

Not sure where you are at.. But 11:30ishAM Eastern time USA is sunrise over there.. Sunset happned at about 10:30 this morning..
It was a very beautiful sunset.. The moon was Full! And extreamly large.
But being the sabbath.. that would be why..

Things seem very quite there right now.. And I can hear some people over the loud speakers in the background.
I think its the calm before the storm..

They had dropped leaflets all over Gaza.. Warning that there would be a massive strike comming soon, and to take cover..
I can atleast hope they all seek shelter, and keep out of harms way..
We can only hope. I don't like this helpless feeling I get just watching.

Im going out later after dinner to round some folks up to prehaps have a meeting on what we should do. To make some effect in my own neiborhood. Atleast something.. Its better than doing nothing.. Now that we are armed with this knowledge.. the least I can do is inform others.

Looks like they must be running this off a generator.

Has anyone figured out what direction this view is looking at?

I got to thinking about the roosters last night. I really dont think they were actual roosters. It is not unheard of to sing animal calls in order to communicate across distances during war time. The one by the camera started crowing before bombs hit. - has this already been talked about? this thread is getting quite long.

im cst i think sunrise will be at 10:42 pm my time maybe.

what bothers me about this whole crap going on right now in gaza is the bigger picture. even if israel pulls out and maybe rockets dont fall inside israel for a while the tensions in the middle east are still there and the problems are no where near solved. how long has this been going on ?

it seems as if the is no real final peace in the middle east. just an explosion waiting to happen.

peace

As long as you have one group who says their goal is to completely wipe another off the map you will never have peace.
