Gloomy predictions for 2009

english.pravda.ru

Demonstrations, riots and looting will break out in various sections of the country, hardest hit by the collapsing economy. The government, which in the US has a history of using draconian tactics once violence starts (or as in the case of Seattle in 1998 there was no need for violence for the police to unleash hell on peaceful demonstrators) will lead to casualties and an escalation of tensions. The US army's North America command will be called in to affect areas, forcing martial law and gun confiscations.

this is a trurly russian prediction for Russia:

"There will be scattered protests and some will turn violent as the economy worsens. The government's plans to sustain industrial production, in the heavy industries, and to weaken the ruble and implement high tariffs will have the desired effects of keeping the nation from all out recession. Inflation will continue, though at a smaller pace, due to the overall global deflationary manner. Over all, the Russian economy will prove one of the strongest in the general world collapse.

The Russian military will continue to rebuild, as part of the government spending programs to keep heavy industry going. Weapon sales will also increase as wars and tensions spread due to the crisis"

US:

"The new year is going to bring major suffering to the US economy and society. On the one hand, the Bank Panic of 2008, started in and by America, will continue to ravage the recessional economy. On the other hand, large swaths of the American demographic, who voted for Obama, are expecting miracles that the US government simply can not provide"

and rest of the world.

the whole prediction is pretty dark and could really be accurate. I also belive that the crisis will continue and that it is going to cause much more unrest in whole world. especially that it is almost incredible to be happening without some powers (NWO, Bilderbergs) behind.

But what always make me feel better is russian blindness on their home situation. the economical and political problems they are going to face this year can be the worst as in last 70 years.

already the gas affair on the begining of the 2009 and for some reasons today the Medviediew has announced the general mobilization for this year. these means tens of milions more armed people. for what reason I ask?

I hate people who attack the source and not the info, however sometimesit has to be said...

Pravda are not known for fact checking or detailed research, pravda are like englands Sunday Sport (named ironicly because we never used to have sport on a sunday) or the daily 'hate' mail and americas faux noise (fox news) or the Baltimore Sun.

That said they aren't too far off what more serious people like bob chapman are saying, hehe yes that was a joke.

While i'm a massive doom sayer i think it's easy to get carried away, most peasants (and i speak as a peasant myself) won't be reaching for pitchforks - although i have been involved with many protest and change groups in my time i don't think most people would turn violent, i expect to see protests and problems but most people will be too busy finding innovative new ways to survive in the changing world.

Large sections of the world as we know it will collapse because they're overly opulent, a realignment of how things work will brush away all the 'American Nail Parlor's' and all the 'Starbucks' with their over priced coffee. We'll buy things that are made to last and repair them when they break, dress in more utilitarian clothes brought at reasonable prices - the sort of life we've lived for about 99% of the time we've been on the planet.

Then again the people with control of the armys of the world aren't going to want to give up their fine cigars and malt whisky, if things start getting bad they're going to press all the big red buttons they can find.

We probably are doomed, pravda might almost be right on this one.

I am afraid that pravda can be right on it. the year has started from a big bang in middle east and even today we heard the decision of Russians to keep the gaspipe empty. some people on the south of the Europe are already suffering the cold.

and this mobilization thing in Russia. with all the financial crisies they are going through it is hard to understand decision like this one, unless there are really huge problems on the way...

Czacza, fellas. About the general mobilization declared by President Medvedev: there must be some kind of misunderstanding here on your behalf. I am writing this message from Moscow itself (I happen to be Russian, actually
), have been listening to the news on the radio Echo Moskvy (a station very much in opposition to the Government), have been checking and have just checked again the news sites - no info on general MILITARY mobilization in this country. There are news about General Anti-corruption mobilization and General Sports and Fitness Mobilization. Both declared by Medvedev. Both Presidential PR and wishful thinking - sadly. But just as fortunately - not general Military mobilzation, as yet anyway
So, Czacza
, don't give me frights like that anymore - as I have a rather delicately organized psyche
Treat us gently
Much love and respect from Russia to the site's visitors and founders.

I hope you will be fine over there. but the info was pretty exact. there is already approved plan to make the mobilization and to organize 2 month lasting military training for all.

it can mean nothing. but when you do realize the cost of it, wow, it looks pretty crazy to organize it only so in these days.

I can be wrong about the reason of it to happen but the mobilization is a fact. it was officially broadcasted by russian agency Interfax. infortunatetly I can not find it in any printed english version. when I will I let u know.
