As soon as they said "connection to god" I realized its just some new age hippy jargon. Unless you believe in this type of stuff I wouldn't waste my time going through the vids.

Hey MBP -

A quick shout-out to you. I just listened to Igan's interview (all 4 pts) and I am off to read/listen/watch the rest.

I agree with Igan, nothing is random and it is all in our emotional intent and right now my emotional intent is gratitude for your post.

Cheers!
TWISI

Emotions are our basis for assumption. Take care of them gently.

This is why the key to happiness is to just be happy.

This is the logic I use with my five year old and it works: It's so happy to be happy. It's so sad to be sad.

Sounds silly I know, but it works every time.

in this broad statement, grouping certain ideas under a certain school of thought which you have preconceived notions and prejudices about, and bypassing any observation of their information, you're being just as, if not more, ignorant as you perceive them to be.

If emotion creates reality then take a good hard look at what television, and movies, and music, is doing to us. Then think about how it can all be controlled.

That is a great point. Your inputs definitely control your outputs.

Emotions change much faster than reality, I would think that something that reality would be based on something more durable than emotions.

Perhaps emotions modify reality...

I was once at a party and everyone was having a great time. Some angry people walked into the room and everything changed in a flash. That, I've seen.

I'm just watching this now. This is remarkable. During the xmass season, while contemplating the many troubles brought up here on ATS, I woke up with a strong, but kind of vague, thought, that keeps persisting. The thought was that to counter the negative agenda, we needed one very good, powerful thought. In a sense it had the feeling of LOD, George Green's book telling us to rewrite the end of the play, that this was the kind of power we have.
Also, theres something about this information that reminds me of what nordics would say when they visit and have to wonder if he's on assignment here with his information.

Your inputs definitely control your outputs.

It would be more accurate to say inputs modulate outputs. That is to say, the input controls variation in one parameter of the output, but the parameters themselves are set before any input is applied.

This is not a quibble; it means that reality creates emotion, not the other way round.

What kind of reality would I get if I didn't have much emotion?
What kind of reality would I have if I had no emotions whatsoever?
I don't buy into this school of thought but thought that you create your own reality with emotions. My experiences in life point the other way.

It is impossible for emotions to control complete reality as there are billions of people all feeling different emotions.

emotions only control your reality and you control your emotions therefore your reality.

If emotion creates reality then take a good hard look at what television, and movies, and music, is doing to us. Then think about how it can all be controlled.

interesting thought!

From the same school of thought that suggests that people are 'basically' only realising their 'expectations, ie a billion people want to be starving/malnourished and the rest want to work for bosses so they can earn salaries that just doesn't seem to quite get them any further than working for bosses all their lives.

I am pretty fed up with people who suggest that we only need to 'visualize' or 'believe' in good things for them to start happening to us. I accept that a positive attitude will take you a very great distance towards success but unless these methodologies are specifically meant to be applied to middle class western Europeans ( which i suppose is what the world consists of according to those who want to sell these books) they are so filled with conceit and self congratulatory arrogance that a decent person would probably be wise to avoid such self indulgent nonsense.

I thought all assumptions ultimately came from emotions and understanding that is understanding your neighbour? Is this rocket science? It seems obvious.

Yes, empathy as derived from the fact that you/i understand that our neighbours are human beings too and experience reality in almost exactly the same way we do. In my opinion if one wants to go further you can say that empathy is how we became 'intelligent' in the first place.

Stellar

PS : And if anyone thinks of 'suggesting', towards 'proving' that mister Igan is in fact correct, that 'empathy' is 'emotion' please reconsider before going that way....

Know someone who blames it all on dogs. We tame dogs. They protect us, and we can deep sleep. Apparently this was 50,000 years ago, but our ability to dream from that made us recognise. I like it, but it is pure conjecture.
