A 6.2-magnitude hit Hindu Kush Region of northeastern Afghanistan on Sunday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The quake struck at about 12:53 a.m. (2020 GMT), about 266 km (166 miles) northeast of the capital, Kabul, the USGS reported.

I know quakes are common in this area, however this was stronger one then usual.

I wonder why it's not yet on the USGS site. I saw this on CNN awhile back, checked the site. and all that were mentioned were the massive ones in Indonesia.

The USGS actually reported this to CNN, so it seems they should have it listed on their site with the others.

I see it listed as a 5.9 earthquake 40 minutes after the 7.6 one in Papua, Indonesia

Im not sure if quakes in one area of the world have an effect on any other siesmic activity anywhere else.

However, ATS is on high quake alert.
