Hi all, So the question is, at what age or time in your life did you begin thinking the world and most of what you were taught was a lie?

The reason I bring this up is the fact I believe it happened to me at an unusually early age. For as long as I can remember I have been terrible at school, both in grades and behavior (I have been diagnosed with ADHD). From early grade school on I have been most a C or lower student. All of my teachers, family, learning disability specialist have been very confused. As of I. Everyone has always told me I'm a "smart" person or I'm "wise beyond my years" and when they look at my school records they are in near shock. Heck, even my highschool principal came to me on graduation and said, I know you are going to be the one making a speech here someday out of anyone here today.

I think since an early age I've scene the many flaws in the "system". I remember always arguing with my parents and teachers how it's flawed and all they could ever say is, well that's just the way it is.

Since then I have lost almost all motivation to memorize and regurgitate the info they want me to learn back to them. It's been a strange road to take. I rely on my intuition to lead me to what is important to know.

I really don't feel much of a connection with most people but a very small group. This group consist of about 10 or so people for example highschool dropout who took his GED, applied to MIT, got accepted but didn't have the funds, he also took the real deal IQ test and scored a 163. Another is an electrical engineer, he won 2nd place at a national competition only b/c he didn't "follow" the directions page by page for the last exam. The highschool dropout and the engineer were good friends in highschool and the engineer has now hired him to his fathers communication company and is doing great. Another is a mechanical engineer for a local materials testing lab. Another has his bachelors in bio and is deciding on a career. Just to name a few.

This group is what really keeps me going in difficult times, to me there is nothing more enjoyable but sitting back and brainstorming with them. We sit around for hours discussing business, tech, space, the downfall of america, ect ect ect.

So far I have no regrets taking this path and whoever is on a similar path I give you a pat on the back for being you.

Also the fact that my older brother was a A+ student, Ive League grad and now works for a large hedge fund baffles me.

I have a few ideas on why I chose this path but I will get to that later.

Thanks,

well i've always had the attitude towards authority. but i never really learned how much bs was out there until shorlty being out of the military. you see, being in the army gives you a very distinct, accurate sense of when you're about to get *&#&*$&#. it's like a skill you get taught without knowing it. the bs meter is installed in the mind and it's irreversible.

the internet was young in those days and chat rooms were the main thing so it wasn't so much about the internet. it was just a normal way of thinking for the army types i guess.

Hi, DarkStar,

I, too, discovered that the systems of the world are designed to brainwash the masses, but I have only discovered it in recent years - I salute you for being so perceptive, so young.

All I knew was that I was unhappy with authority all my life, but I went along blindly and totally unquestioningly. I was never happy, but I was a high achiever education-wise. Much good it did me. I truly believe that education is helpful, though, as long as you can see beyond the brainwashing. For example, the way that history of wars is taught is totally hypocritical and a giant lie - it is based on the view of whichever country is doing the brainwashing of its citizens.

As I have got older, I have seen more and more clearly that the powers-that-be just want to have the people under their control.

It is sickening and I wish I knew what to advise you.

All hail to you - you are part of the new spearhead of young people who, hopefully, might head the world in a different, and healthier, direction.

And another huge concern I have is that there is a giant wave of young people who can see through this hypocrisy, and they are being diagnosed as ADD, ADHD etc and DRUGGED!! This is wrong, but the people in power are scared that these new young people will see through the whole travesty.

I wish you well and please stick to your guns and follow your own truth.

Thank you so much for your post.

i guess the belief built up over time as i searched for more and more answers

I would just like to say that the MEDIA is B.S a huge stinkin pile of b.s to meet political agenda's and show the financial lords in the most unhostile light as possible and sometimes the b.s hits at people's emotional buttons and makes ignorance willingly blissful as opposed to taking the time and effort to accept a uncomfortable truth especially in this fast paced, i want it now world.

I would be shocked if the world or Usa is better off in 10 years than it is now, most likely people will be looking back at the last 75 years as a "golden age" in america and that is with all it's injustises, and corruption currently. the standard of living will be falling across the board and with it our rights.........watch

p.s but don't get too down because everyone still has an individual opporunity to excel and still create a better life for themselves......we just need to invest some determination into making the world around us a better place with a love for ourself as a prerequisite IMO.

I believe I see what your problem is.

First, let me tell you who I rub elbows with since you have done so.
I've personally met 4 presidents, many state governors, a few movie stars and many lawyers and doctors.

Yes, they do stimulate me into good conversation. I do enjoy their company.

The closest I have come to understanding life and enjoying myself was on a river bank by a roaring fire with my red neck friends. Laying back looking at the night sky listening to stories about each others lives is very enlightening.

Hunting trips with my professional friends is a very life changing experience too. It's even better when we pass the jar around.

Maybe you need to just get personal with nature and "normal" friends. Don't concern yourself with their educational history. Some of our best lessons of life are learned from plain people. They are the salt of the earth.

Our world is not all BS. It depends on your perspective.

As cliche as this is going to sound... I realized it when I first watched Fox News.

I couldn't believe people were allowed to lie so much or at least mislead on TV without any repercussions from their network.

I realized it about 10 years ago.

I wish I could leave this planet. I am so disgusted at the utter disdain people have for each other in general any more. Society has become a result of all the propaganda, confusion, brainwashing.

One way or another it can not go on like this forever. I am glad we are not immortal, because who would want to live here forever. Those that knowingly
deceive people, in the end, will only get the product of what they reaped on this earth.

I just do my best to hang to what I have, turn off the news, and choose to remember when I wake up in the morning, that my spirit is free, and not one person on this planet will take that away that freedom.

The reason I put their education background is simple. I was just letting people know that the "group" wasn't a bunch of druggies or w/e. I totally agree with you and don't look at anyone in that view. I would be an oxymoron lol.

Me and my high school dropout friend usually but heads about "plain" people. He hates them and says they are the reason why everything is sh!t. I try to explain to him you have to look for the good in people. You have to appreciate their character, not what they know. I fear he may grow into an evil genius someday lol. He really doesn't like the masses very much.

I'm going to have to voice my opinion on this statement. Personally I'm not very religious and the more I read into '___' and death the more I believe there is no "afterlife". But, what really gets me excited is all the anti aging research going on right now. When and if it's available in my life time I would be all for it. I would quietly wait for the time space travel is attainable and venture out to space. I would love to watch humanity evolve from type 0 civilization to type 1, then 2, then 3. Space is so vast and full of discoveries and if string theory and the multiverse is real that's a whole other subject.

Thanks for the kind words.

My Dad believes Fox is the best out there haha. We argue so much anymore, but I convinced him to read Crossing the Rubicon so maybe someday he will wake up.

I feel ya. I've been putting a smile on my face and telling everyone I'm doing great for 22 years haha. It's a tough road to walk my friend but the BS world is crumbling and we will have our day.

Thanks for the kind words. A lot of people have trouble giving me advice haha. But that's the fun part for me, I'm truly living a very individual life. As for the young people in this world, don't worry about them, that's what I'm here for. I have a few ideas up my sleeve

Hi Star (am not going to call you Dark - hey, lose that name - you are Bright)

I am thrilled that you have some ideas.

I was 12. I remember becoming aware that nobody else thought we were all one inseparable being.

I had a major shock to my system. I could suddenly see past most illusions, including education.

It's been an ongoing experience since then trying to intertwine perspectives.

That's very interesting. I remember vaguely I had the same kind of shock and thinking to myself my life will never be the same. and for some reason Bush Sr. image pops into my head when I think about it, who knows.
