Research...help?

Hello, I'm starting to research what occurred to my dad's mom(grandmother).

Basically, late 50's early 60's, my grandmother had some mental problems way back in West Virginia, they checked her into a state hospital, they transferred her to a mental ward where they performed ECT and held her for a month.

What they supposedly gave her was WAY beyond normal ECT and held her for over a month, which is additionally odd as ECT is outpatient therapy. When she came back from the hospital, she didn't recognize any of her four children, her house, or where she was. From what I understand the treatment of ECT was understood within a reasonable extent then and this was a WAY over the line treatment case. Any help?

Question 1. Anyone know of any hospitals in WV that had any involvement in MKUltra, my cursory search didn't turn any association.

Question 2. Best route to go about requesting medical records for someone.

I'm going to hit my dad up for more info later including the hospital specifics. He always talked about the horror of being a twelve year old and his Mom not recognizing him.

I can't answer your questions, but the odds are your grandmother was just a typical victim of that era of treatments. I've been through what I myself might believe was related to Mk ultra and recall someone well known mentioning it as well. That doesn't mean it's true in my case.

It would be interesting if the people who were used in this study were on some list somewhere that was available. How likely would that even be though? I suppose some may have certain implants that show up on x-rays.
