Girls in bikinis on Ads on ATS? Is that the type of ad we should have on ATS?

I've copied the location of the ad. I find it completely inappropriate. I think that since this website has people of all ages it should be taken down.

Look at this ad.
googleads.g.doubleclick.net...

Do you want this ad to represent ATS?

Are you serious? It's a girl in a bikini, it doesn't appear sexual, and is the sort of thing you see at the beach. It's a swimsuit ad isn't it? I'm guessing you'd like to ban Sears from publishing underwear ads too.

We need more of these type of ads.

If you find that ad offensive you must really hate the beach. Any beach is damn near a roman orgy in comparison to that relatively tame ad.

Gay, female, or fundamentalist?

THREAD HERE is generally used for reporting any questionable adverts that appear occasionally.

Unfortunately I don't think ATS/Owners have a great deal of say in which Adverts pop up...there is certainly some say, but maybe its more a retrospective type one whereby a questionable advert pops up and we/they get to say "Umm, not that one thanks."

Anyhoo...hopefully a Higher Up more in the know will be able to shed a much brighter light on it than I.

Cheers.

SO has a thread around here somewhere called "Skeptic Overlord's Ad Hit list" or something like that. Post a pic in that thread and he may get rid of it. I agree with the other posters though, it's no worse than going to the beach. Heck it's no worse than turning on the TV half the time. Much better than the smiley ads and swat the mosquito ads that we had awhile back.

I don't think it's a big deal, if kids go on the beach or for a swim in the pool would they not see other people wearing that? I do not think it's X-rated since this kind of outfit is public for people to wear outsite their home.

At least us chics here now know a new place to shop

Do they give discounts to ATSers since its advertised here?

That's good for you, but, what about all the younger visitors that we get? Would you rather them see images of girls in bikinis and make them think that this is a sex site or would you rather have them see images related to this site?

Um, unless the kids that come here live at the north pole, im sure they see girls in bikinis at the beach/pool all summer long. And you can see that and more on commericals on TV....

But having them on a conspiracy website? What's the point of that? Is that the image that you want people to have of our website when they first access it through google? "Oooh, so there must be some conspiracy as to why people dress in bikinis?"

Agree completely. Would have to be some pretty sheltered kids to have never seen a woman in a bikini.

-I don't think anyone is stupid enough to judge a site by one little ad, then again...

Okay, you're justifying that, but is that what you really want them to think about when they first see ATS?

I live on the beach in Florida, and you can't go to Wal-Mart without seeing bikinis in little see-through cover ups for the bottoms, and tops left alone. You should see some of the . . . well, you should see - well, maybe not you, but - never mind.

I must have been a different kid than most. I knew what everything looked like, how it worked, and what went where. If a kid want to look up that stuff, often he can pick up mom's copy of Victoria's Secret, or Google it online.

I'm sorry, just not a big deal to me. Well, it is, in that I like bikinis. In fact, if there were a bikini fan club, I'd be President.

And if you get word where the Victoria's Secret summer shoot is going to be, there's a thousand bucks for sharing it with me.

Um. Whats the point of having WoW ads?

I really doubt that anyone coming to ATS seeing an ad for a clothing store (really, its a clothing store not porn) is going to think "wow, I stumbled up on a centerfold site"

Ok, I have to ask... Are you seriously offended by that ad? Do you seriously think some 12 or 13 year old is going to have their innocence stripped away by seeing a girl in a bikini when they see that at the beach, the pool, and on TV? Or are you just trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill? Honestly it appears to be the latter.

It's an ad for heavens sake. It's no different than having an ad for talking smileys, other than it's less annoying. What do half the ads have to do with conspiracies? Nothing at all.

Wow is a video game. A lot of people who play games use the internet.

I think having a picture of that on the homepage would attract the wrong kind of crowd to ATS.

So what if everyone sees this a lot and it's not uncommon? Do you want this website to attract the wrong kind of crowd? That's what these pictures would do.

No, but half of the ads are from MSNBC, which are about politics, which in turn can become conspiracies.

I'm not offended by the content of the ad. I'm just offended that an ad like this would be on ATS. It just doesn't seem like ATS to me.
