Ground offensive within 24 hours

CNN is now reporting that reports from Gaza and Israel indicate a ground offensive is underway.

I didn't really doubt that it would happen.

They said they WOULD go in, now they have no choice but to do so. If for nothing else but to save face and show they aren't being passive anymore.

I am very glad to have been born in a stable area of the globe. If I was born in Israel or Palestine (official or not) I would have probably left by now. May all the benevolent forces that be watch and limit actions by Cheney et al.

It seems somewhat futile with terrorist's typical mentality. I would rather they were sucessful than not. Palestinians who democratically voted in Hammas is apparently getting their reward for their ignorance and arrogance. They apparently believe they are always at war with Israel.

America is only 200+ years old there has been no peace on earth since humanities beginning or do the thousands of wars throughout thousands of years before America existed suddenly not count anymore.

War existed before America and will exist after America if you to blame something blame our human nature.

Yes, finally, teach those scum a lesson once and for all. I hope this is the battle predicted in Psalms...where most of the arabs are wiped out and Israel will have a real temporary peace, until they are again attached by Russia, Iran, and Libya. Either way, GO Israel, we love ya and kick some terrorist satan worshipping butt.

This battle started when satan and his followers were cast out of heaven. Later, satan's prophet muhammed (mo-mo for short) won over a bunch of brain damaged "humans"(that would be the muslims) and the war has been going on ever since. Thankfully, I know how the story ends, with the end of satan, and all his followers. Thank you Lord, hopefully this show is now on the road.

I'm going to go with God in this one, you just keep feeling sorry for the pallys. I'm not, God doesn't and I'm not one to question his word. There is a reason this is happening, because there is NO good in that people.

By inventing the nuke America has ensured no world wars.

America has done what every empire has done before - its just done it in an age of instant media. While I hate war it seems strange to blame the US since everyone else would do the same if in the US position (would we rather Russia, China, Japan, Germany, France or Britain were in charge? They've all proven very warlike empire builders when given the chance.)

I'd rather thank the US for economic growth that has lifted billions out of grinding poverty. I'd like to thank America for technology that has done more than politics has ever done to improve the quality of life for all. I am grateful that Nazism and Communism are not political systems that I live under and for that American boys paid in blood.

On balance a world without the US would be dire and while some policies are reprehensible, all wars are tragic and many truly suffer under US politics I doubt we would really wish to be without the vast weight of positive good that America has been in the world.
