Chinese and Russian military leaders have spoken to each other on a new phone hotline for the first time.

The head of China's military says it is a sign of growing political trust and strategic co-operation between Beijing and Moscow.

The two countries have stepped up their military links in recent years, conducting joint anti-terrorism and border control exercises.

Surely with all thats going on, this can not be a good thing for the west.

This is the first I have heard of this sort of co-operation between these two countries.

An alliance sealed?
Is this part of the developing Middle Eastern conflict?
Coincidence perhaps?

Or am I just getting nervous?

Yeah, everyone says IRAN is inept and would lose any conflict they'd start, yet, all that is needed is another phone line apparently.

The good ol two heads are better than one. Now they have a better chance to stand up to the US. I wouldn't be surprised to see the two countries stick their nose in some country just to show the US what they are capable of working as a team. The RUSCHI connection is here to stay.

Much of that progress has come within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, a loose alliance of Central Asian states dominated by Beijing and Moscow. In contrast, military-to-miliary ties between Beijing and Washington have hit a recent low following China's reported suspension of some senior-level visits and other planned exchanges, announced earlier this month to the Pentagon but not publicly confirmed by Chinese officials. An agreement was announced for a hot line between the Pentagon and China's Defense Ministry in Beijing, but progress on setting it up appears to have stalled.

The symbolism of the China Olympics starting on 8-8-8 should have told us all we need to know. The number 8 is symbolic of a new beginning. China is the chosen new world leader for the 21st century, and Russia and Iran make perfect allies for them.

I alway thought you added them up in numerology.....

ie:

8+8+8=24
2+4=6

yet another step closer to the end game me thinks.

perhaps we are seeing the pieces of the puzzle come together when they warned that obama would face a crises 21/22nd of jan 2009.

or perhaps after pocketing trillions of tax dollars from its citizens, the american government created another depression and now only sees a massive war as a way out. china and russia may just be responding to israel and america's grand plan.

i am not looking forward to 2009.

I disagree. China will be at war with Russia long before the US. They will want Russia's resources and if the US and Europe's power continue to diminish they will take them by force. In 50 years or so I think China will control most of Russia's territory. Short term allies sure but long term Russia is going to need protection and no one at that time will be able to offer it.

Possible. However I think if America is being looting the people doing it will pick clean it's rotting corpse and move to somewhere else with their money - likely Europe or Africa but maybe even China itself. When the USSR fell lots of people got rich and many of them did not stay in Russia. If the US is looted in a similar way to the USSR was I imagine the elite would not stay loyal to the geography and half the purpose of causing a collapse (beyond the looting of tax payer money and equipment built with tax payer money and research - military equipment for example.) is to reap the benefits of newly created opportunities elsewhere.
