Spam Mail

After have such a relaxing break away from the hustle and bustle that is ATS, I may have stumbled across something that is a little disturbing to me.

You see I used to get a hell of alot of spam mail in my inbox. I cleared this using the block sender command in Hotmail. This is now full ( max 250 addresses) and I only get spam mail in dribs and drabs.

Since returning to ATS my spam mail HAS TRIPLED easily. Has someone hacked into ATS and aquired the ATS email list, selling this list to various PORN sites, Make your Penis Bigger sites, Debt relief agencies and the like.

If this is the case, WHERE THE HELL IS MY CUT! The amount of time wasted deleting these annoying spam mail messages is getting beyond a joke.

Oz Chris has right. Someone from ATS ( and NOT someone from outside ATS ! ) is playing a strange game with some ATS user.

I'll do a topic on this subject.

could it be because of all the porn sites, make your penis bigger sites, and such that you go too?

just kidding, now that you mention it i've noticed an increase in this crapola too.

my mum set an hot mail account up and after a few days she went to check it. And it had tons of are you tired of your size then buy dr herbs p.... enlarger. And outher stuff so i told my mum to leave the hot mail alone or 40 days and ur account is gone .

also from time to time i do get a tiny bit of spam with the same thing dr herbs blah blah

I too have gotten those messages, and all my email to that account only comes from this site.

I don't mean to be critical of the webmaster or administrators of this website.. But if they are selling the email list from here, to keep this site up and running I would hope, then a simple announcement that they are doing such would be appreciated.

Sorry,but they don't do that ! Otherwise, I would receive those p.enlargment email too ( or may be they think that I don't need it LoL ).

We have 1 or more spammers, but it's not comming from ATS. That's someone who track our email.

And take care, because our spammer(s) sent me a worm !

Is it me, or is everyone using a HOTMAIL account?

This may sound crazy, but what if it isn't ATS thats to blame, but good ol' Microsoft who've sold on all their hotmail addresses?

No. Because I don't use Hotmail. I've 2 web based email account ( like hotmail ), and I receive those spams with my 2 accounts. And I took these 2 accounts on 2 different webserver.

and I get a ton of that spam too. I simply set my security to real high, scan my junk mail folder quick, then clear it out. Gets to be a science after a while...

I don't understand why peoples are still using hotmail.

Only 2MB and allways many problems. Why don't you change for another web email ?

too much trouble to get everyone using the new one...so, I stick it out.... I have an actual server e-mail address too, but the nice thing about sites like hotmail, is that I can access it wherever I am. And, as I'm often all over the place, it's nice to be able to do that.

you can access it anywhere as well.
and it's hard to receive a virus on it since it's not on a web browser (unless you intentionally save the attachments on your hard drive).

It is obvious that someone or something (a bot) has harvested our email addresses, I too am getting heaps of spam, but it is all teaken care of with mailwasher, an excellent free program I downloaded from tucows.com
