Future technoligy freedom. Humanity Survival. The Chip WillL Be EvolutionN Of Humanity?

50 years ago it took lots money and a computer the size of a football field
to have what we have on our desktops today.

50 years from now (If technology keeps advancing.) humans will have a desktop cern. Which is now at the cost of lots of money and huge in size.

So what is a possibility to assure safety with these new technologies that will be easily made by anyone in the future? A human brain monitoring system. The Chip.

The one problem I have with this is the monitoring of our thoughts. All humans have "retarded thoughts that pop up into our heads from time to time." What if one had OCD along with disturbing intrusive thought disorder. Would they be put in mental ward or jail?
Im sure most of this will not be a problem...as i bet our mind will be monitored by AI beings that are not judgmental and understand the human mind. Your thoughts wont matter (Unless it has something to do with creating weapons of mass destruction...It will be your actions that matter.) Any thoughts of creating weapons will set off a trigger...then be monitored. IN my opinion in the future it will be needed. If it could be regulated and not fall into the hands of unmoral people i guess it would not be that bad.

Here is my question.
To insure technological freedom and safety would you be willing to take the chip. I want to see what others think about this.
I am still on the fence.

I take it your a teenager... not many adults would even consider that kind of slavery as life.

Those who would chose not to have the chip...
what would be your answer to new technology coming out that could destroy the world? What would stop someone in the future going to radio shack to produce something massively destructive that is not known to man at present. Who is to say that in 100 years very simple stuff combined could not produce the destruction of us all.

I do agree the chip could be used for evil.

On the other hand, It could be used for good if used in a moral way...UN board of something to make sure that it was only used for purpose of monitoring for weapons of mass destruction and not being abused.

Thank you for your replies on whether you would use the chip or not.

I have yet decide If I would allow it to be used on me..I guess it would depend on what the laws were on its use, and if it was regulated by many countries together to assure morality.

This subject is very interesting to me as im sure it is to others too.

What is free will, if a chip is controlling your brain?

I don't think that GOD would want you to implant a chip in your head.

I'm sure that those who parasite on us are pleased to see that you're actually willing to consider the option.

I don't see any use for a chip in our heads that will benefit our evolution, whatsoever.

What we need, is less technology.

And less ways of mind control.

You can bet that there are many people in power who probably think this is a really great idea. And no doubt when technology comes, they will try and find a way to push it onto us, without thinking about the implications of going just a little too far. You can bet it'll be us little people with these chips, and the Big Joes will be free from tyranny to do what they want.

My attitude is that sometimes stuff happens, stuff that sucks, you can either roll with it, or you can try and nanny your nation and world like it's a little baby, so nothing bad can happen to it. Sometimes cars crash and bombs explode and stuff happens. I would rather take my chance with random death than have my privacy stolen.

This utterly psychopathic attitude to controlling events is out of control. Oh for the old days.

Wouldn't that be like a caveman saying...Yea we are all going to die from the black plague ...the technology to cure it could be dangerous so I wont use it. Lets just roll with it. At least with the technology they would have a chance.

Yes, I do understand the tyranny that could be used with this device...Also...How do we know it's not already going on by aliens on us? Something the size of atoms finding its host from another host... The mind monitoring thing replicates and enters the skin of another, finding its way to the center of the brain...reading the brain waves. This put in place when the first nuke explosion took place. Because, we became a possible threat to the universe at that time. They did this to make sure we dont stumble upon something that could destroy the universe or other peaceful civilizations by accident. Just a possibility...I have a creative mind. lol
If this far out possibility is going on, I believe they have made it allow free will... Just not hurt any one outside of our own world.

If this is already going on...It wouldn't matter much would it if we did it for our selves? lol We just need to have the harm none implemented with our own technology to make sure destruction don't take place, and make sure that no one abuses it.

Personally I'd rather be sent on my way to the next world than take any chip. Sure, it could have it's good uses, but at the end of the day if anyone believes it would not eventually be used as a device to control thoughts and behaviour then that is an incredibly naive view.
The moment something like that is put in your head, your freedom of mind has been invaded. You are giving consent to be mentally monitored and controlled. You have signed up for mental and intellectual slavery.

Well this is a late reply but you just made a very bad analogy. A cure for plagues is needed, a chip to control or monitor our thoughts is not needed.

I am not a philistine, but I think technology is a dangerous tool which will bite man in the ass if it is not used carefully.

Scientists are the men who create our futures, unfortunately there is no moral guidance for these men, they are only interested in what is possible, not in what is right. That is how the atom bomb was created, and now look at the paranoid state the world is in. In a Mexican standoff with nukes instead of handguns.
