Would anyone like share with me their experiences with déjà vu?

I have had these moments on and off over the years with no more than a passing thought … however they now seem to be occurring more and more these past few months and to the point where while amidst one I know what is coming next before it has even played out.

Would also be very interested in your thoughts on whether you tend to share the same belief that they are sign posts along our current life’s journey to help confirm that we are on the right path or …whether you believe that they are memories from another lifetime being recalled and played out in this one?

Look forward to reading your views…

I've also had an increase of deja-vu in the last few months. And like you, a couple times I knew what was going to happen. One incident that messed with me was a couple weeks ago.

I was reading a thread on ATS, and I read a particular post and all of a sudden an intense feeling of deja-vu overcame me.

And then a thought flashed through my mind, and I knew what the next post would say. And sure enough, the post was what I thought it would be, word for word.

I totally forget the thread or even the posts in that thread that triggered the deja-vu though.

I've always thought that deja-vu is caused from dreams that fortell little incidents like that. There's no reason that caused me to come to that conclusion, its just something I've always thought since I was a kid.

I love it when i get Deja Vous soo much because its such an amazing experience because for me i could be doing whatever and all of a sudden i'll stop and i'll know whats going to happen next and then it does although for me its usually minor stuff like seeing someone walk past you on the street and then it would be the exact same way same whether it be the weather or the same clothes everything exactly the same

i also had a period where i got deja vous atleast twice everyday but for some reason they have been gets far and few between lately maybe it is all about being on the right path in life and maybe i have strayed from mine ever so slightly i dont know but still i think its such an amazing event to know whats going to happen before it does

I could've swore that I have posted on this thread before...maybe it got deleted, or maybe I just dreamt it. Weird.

I've always gotten déjà vu but my experiences have been coming more and more frequent in recent memory. They've been getting longer and more often than not I know exactly what's coming next to the point where I can say exactly what someone around me is saying in unison.

Funny you should ask!

I had a very strong one last night. I remember these moments from dreams I had years and years ago. I can't say exactly how long ago, as they just seemed like dreams then. I do feel the frequency of deja vu has increased though.

My own theory about Deja Vu is that when a major earth event, or human event (like 9-11 of Tsunami) happens, then ripples are sent back and forward in timespace, and it is our own personal experiences that we dream of/foresee, riding on these waves.

I have experienced this many many times in my life, and they are always scenes that I remember were not familiar at the time, but which seem quite "normal", like last night's which was myself in one room, and my girlfriend and her sister in another. Just a normal scene, but one which I had dreamt at least 10 years earlier.

Please, if you're skeptical, don't reply with that old chestnut about the two halves of the brain receiving signals at different times. It just doesn't apply and is faintly patronising on what I would believe to be a "grown up" site.

Thank you for your restraint.

My experiences with "deja vu" wrap around the basic concept of a sudden realization in a short time frame.
most of which are basic epiphanies. happening the as i recall it.
others however are insight to certain situations.
ive come to notice alot that when it happends its not more of a feeling i get.
its a realization.
like something muttering in my ear. telling me something.
most of the time in such bursts i shout it out in fear of a tragedy at hand.
i dont know why but when i speak of it others cant help but listen.
Another experience with it...for a few months straight i lived in fear.
every night i went to bed i had the same dream.
Tomorrow.
id dream. forget it.
and then remember it throught the day.
like watching myself walk a map.
one after another theyd happen. everyday almost every hour.
i dont get them as often anymore.
but when i do they are stronger then ever. i can accually see the situation happen before it happend.
thus ending it.
if what im saying is at all true.
time does not exsist somewhere in this world.

Flag!!

Yups I have had many Deja Vu's in my lifetime. But I don't think it suddenly increased over the last few years. They just happen.

My theory about them was that consiouness doesn't travel in a straight time-line. The last 2 years I slighty changed my opinion about them.

Why? First of all there is a mechanism called self-fulfilling prophecy. I dunno why but I think it's somehow related, because you can have an idea in your head, that later on seems to happen exactly how you thought it would be before.
Secondly: time indeed doesn't seem to travel in a straight line and there is a lot of discussion about the string-theory lately.

Nowadays I believe coincedences (in which I do not believe) and quantum-possibilities are countless, hence Deja Vu's could be a loop in the quantum time mechanism.

It's just idea I have now.

Peace!

So my most intense moment of dejavoo is a little different...it took years.

I saw this commercial for Ovaltine when I was a little plucky living in Portland, Oregon. It went something like this:

"I can't get over Ovaltine... It's so delicious now. It tastes fantastic, WOW! It's a whole new scene, O- O- O- O-val-time.... I can't get over Ovaltine, I can't get over O-val-tine!!!"

www.inthe80s.com...

The commercial had this kid on a BMX doing tricks...

Here's the thing, as soon as I saw the commercial my brain flashed back some years prior, to an instant on my front lawn when I fell and hit my head on the grass. I was jumping off of this big inner-tube, my brother used his body weight to launch me off of, and when I hit I think I saw stars, a flash; I shook it off and continued playing (it was a beautiful SoCal day). So, yeah, years later, upon seeing the Ovaltine commercial, I realized that I saw the very same commercial years before it came out in that instant when my head hit the turf.
The same kid on the same BMX doing the same tricks to the very same song. Weird.

When I saw the commercial in real time I freaked out and no one knew what I was talking about, but it did happen.

One night a few years back I had a dream that I somehow got a concussion. It's hard to remember specifics now, but I had this whole ordeal memorized to a T for a while because of how incredible it was to me.

Anyways, the day after I had the dream, I was at an elementary school helping with an aftercare program with a girlfriend, and we were just sitting in a hallway about to leave with another friend. I yawned and stretched real hard, which made me pass out, and I hit my head on the floor.
I came to with my girlfriend standing on top of me (she thought I was joking) and my head feeling like it just exploded.

I hadn't thought about the dream yet, just waited until she got picked up and then walked to my friends' house, with my vision turning into a smaller and smaller tunnel the whole way there, until it was about the size of my fist held out in front of me. I remember staring at it in the middle of a street for a couple of minutes, which makes me laugh now.
A few hours later I'm certain I got concussed, and thought that it was a cute little coincidence that I had had that dream the night before.

Nothing eventful at the friends' house until I my mom came over from work to pick me up. (live outside of town, work/school/friends in town)

The minute I walked out the front door and saw the car, it was exactly as it was in part of the dream, but I felt like I was on drugs by this point, so talking about that part of it wasn't really an option, just the fact that had I hit my head and I might want to get it checked out eventually.

Lots of the things we passed on the drive were exactly as they were in the dream, from the lighting, to the snow, the buildings and their shadows, and the route we took to my sister's work.
One of the few pieces of the dream I still remember is walking through the petshop that my sister worked at (which I hadn't been in for months) and looking at how different it seemed.

We get there, and I walk into the store because it's warmer than sitting out in the car, and everything was exactly like in my dream, and completely different from the way the place looked the last time I was there. I probably walked around for a good 5-10 minutes, just thinking how crazy the situation was getting for me. Reptiles in the fish section, and fake vines everywhere, just like the dream, etc

I forgot to mention that every time I noticed one of these recurrences or whatever (on top of feeling like my brain was chewing opium) my stomach would turn, and I'd have to really fight it to not puke.

That's the last of the coincidences/déjà vues I can remember aside from the atmosphere and conversations in the car on the way to the doctors, but I know I'd been telling people about it for months afterwards because the whole night was one long déjà vu.

Once I sat on the doctors table, my head started clearing up and I could hold conversation, and I couldn't fight my stomach any more. Ran to the bathroom and puked a real good puke, and then everything was just about back to normal.

This story was so much more interesting when I could actually remember the details, sorry.

It's funny that everyone seems to experience deja vu sporadically. I can get it three of four times a day. When it does happen, I can't predict what's going to happen next. I just have an intense feeling I've been in this particular situation before and as the scene plays out, this feeling wears off although it can last anywhere from three sencond to half an hour.

I never really gave much thought to deja vu. I always presumed it was just one of those odd things that tends to happen. Part of the mystery of life I suppose. Although, it is fascinating and I'd like to hear everyone elses' experiences.

Deja vu is precognition. Congratulations, you're all psychic (everyone is)
Some people have it brought on by dreams that they've had, and upon experiencing the dream actually happening they get hit by deja vu. I never really had many precognitive dreams, but i was hit by it on an airplane to which i freaked out and said to myself (i've already done this before!) Which is when i realized what it was. My coworker got deja vu once and told his wife that a "large" man was going to walk around from behind the building. Sure enough, large man from behind the building.

But that's just my say.
