I know this might sound dumb, or might be in the wrong place but hear me out.

So i was watching the show Prison Break, and they had a scene where they explained the reaction when you put the elements boron, argon, gallium, and indium in a solar cell, and supposedly you can harness 100% of the suns power. I do not believer this true, well at least the 100% part.

But i did a little bit of snooping and i found a patent for something very similar to this.

www.freepatentsonline.com...

Here's part of the abstract-
"The initial melt of elemental indium, gallium, and arsenic contain about 1 atom percent of indium, and inclusion of the indium permits high yield growth of crystals with desired near stoichiometric or slightly arsenic rich composition which exhibit the desired electrical characteristics."

So what do you all think? maybe it has already been made and is in use by our government today? Theres endless possibilities.
Not everything is as it seems.

nope lol but i'm sure it would be a reallly good bargain if someone could make it and you'd have cheaper energy?

I don't think that the writers of Prison Break could so easily give out a government secret
But it might be true
Not everything is as it seems.

If there is any merit to the research then it is a bargin .. The bargin of the century. Even if this mix could only deliver 70% efficiency consider that todays average solar cell only harnesses 20% of the solar energy.

To say nothing about the benifits of solar thermal energy over solar photovoltaic.

Thanks for bringing this up OP.

Star for you.

I heard it was more like - Carbon Radium Phosphorus

I started a thread exactly like this around the same time. Not much info I'm afraid.

No worries at all, I was just trying to find out some info on it. I am glad that you found some info on it. Thanks.

When I saw the episode, my first impression was that it maybe reasonable (although 100% seems impossible) in a certain degree. I have tried to find some literatures to verify it, but failed, thank you for your patent.

I'm really interested to this episode of Prisonbreak. It stuck in my mind like glue.
Well I really think [80% maybe] that this B Ar Ga In stuff is true. I think it's more of a fictional.
Someone said that either Arsenic or Antimony were the elements that was really on the writer's mind as Argon is a noble gas and As and Sb are more commonly used to solar power stuffs. I dont really have enough information about this one but, hey! I'm impressed with your research.
Thanks

So yeah I was watching Prison Break too and it is the best show that has ever been around. I was wondering the same thing and I just finally got a chance to look it up online so Rimaster...It's all cool and I'm glad someone else likes Prison Break. For some reason not to many people like it.
