You know, many of these recent UFO reports are very poorly researched by media: i notice it in both the sightings and the debunkings, sometimes i'm not not sure which ones are more ridiculous
. Now, regadless IF this case actually turned out to be a release of chinese lanterns or not, the lack of details is really impressive: i recall another recent case in which lanterns were released during some weddings, but at least there were mentioned names, date, location, circumstances and witnessess: at least that one was detailed. This one sounds more like something that was heard in some pub than some real news: it' like some reporter says "this is the truth, accept it because i tell you it is, this is Sky".
Your observation is correct IMHO, and that's not just poor research but also a BAD way to make journalism. Perhaps (if not likely) in the next hours we'll get some more conclusive details, but at the status quo the article is NOT conclusive at all, imho.
Maybe they were in a hurry because they also published the article about the sighting, but nothing justifies the total absence of any corroborating information. Let's wait and see: local news ( www.halesowennews.co.uk... )didn't report so far any new detail

What is interesting about the formation, is what the eerily similarity is associated with. If you compare it to Hebrew, the outcome is astonishing:

"Lamed Peh Zayin"

This brings out an interesting astrological connection - the 42 letters name of God is usually divided into 7 names connected to the 7 planets, while the 72 fold name is usually divided into 12 groups of six names, with the 12 groups connected to the 12 tribes and 12 zodiacal sign.

42 letters Name of God

"Lamed Peh Zayin" is, apparently, located in one of the seven names - "Yglfzak." Of course, one is not allocating these UFOs to symbolising one of the 42 letters name of God, but it is an interesting connection.

Perhaps the most interesting aspect of this, is the ongoing misinterpretation of 'UFO'. The mother from the playground is quoted;

“It’s hilarious that it’s caused such a storm. I can’t believe people thought they were actually UFOs.”

Anything in the sky that cannot be identified IS a UFO. Just because something is given the label UFO does not automatically mean it is from another world - I have seen flying objects I could not immediately put a label on, so up until the point they could be identified, they were UFO's.

There is another thread on this event on the General Conspiracy Forum here:

Mystery Lights Over the Midlands

And I have not done this before but in this case I find it very interesting as this area is famous for many years for some of the most convincing sightings ever, as in physical evidence and very good photo's so I will below repost it here to:

History.....

same area

An egg-shaped UFO was spotted in Rowley Regis nearly 30 years ago, secret Ministry of Defence files have revealed.

Documents recently made available online by the National Archives under the Freedom of Information Act state how a woman suffered severe hallucinations after witnessing the eight foot long object land in her garden on January 4, 1979.

The account, related in a letter from an investigator for the British Research Association, says police from Oldbury and West Bromwich were called out to the incident.

It reveals how the object “left prominent ground traces which were subsequently photographed and measured,” while the woman’s eyesight was adversely affected.

Halesewon News

Do lanterns 30 years ago, lol leave marks in the ground and effect peoples sight?

2007

A UFO, described by witnesses as looking like a huge “Dorito” crisp has been filmed over the skies of the Black Country, according to a paranormal group.

A flurry of calls has been made to Stourbridge-based UFO Research Midlands (UFORM) from those claiming to have witnessed the flying object in the sky.

Witnesses say they spotted it in Halesowen heading towards Stourbridge on Wednesday at around 7pm.

Express & Star Midlands

Is the above a Chinese lantern too?

I think these historical events in this area offer quite a lot of credence to any sightings in the area.

Physical evidence.

Very very clear Photograph of an UFO.

Kind Regards,

Elf.

The photo attached to the article you cite is not from the Black Country sighting. It is a photo taken in 1990 in Petit Rechain, Belgium. Quite a distance and time away.

I did see the link. The photo has no caption and the article does not say the photo has anything to do with the sighting. It not the same "object" it is the same photo. Did you see the link I gave?

The Rowley Regis report is not a report at all but a request for information. The person making the inquiry says, in regard to the police stations involved; "I have written to them and although they have a record of this incident, they have little detail." There is no indication of where the inquirer got his information about trace evidence and photos or whether there were indeed any of either.

The inquiry appears on page 288 of DEFE 24/1930/1

Thanks,

Trying to get a contact for the local group, and trying to get the original footage.

Thanks for the heads up, but still is interesting the two previous strong UFO events in this area.

Kind Regards,

Elf
