Now I know there's a few Maiden fans on this site, I just wanted to know ppl's opinions on there latest album AMOLAD.

I know the album had rave reviews and a few ppl I have spoken to agree it's a great album but I feel it lacks something. I am alone in this thought?

I love purchasing a new Maiden album, I go through the same thought/feeling process each time;

I listen to the album in one go, the tracks sound very similar to one another, I then listen to the album again and again and begin to pick up a few songs which really grow on me, after listening to the album 5 or 6 times I have become immersed, every song is unique to the other the album becomes highly addictive. I could never become tired of listening to "No Prayer For the Dying", "Somewhere in Time", "X-factor" any of there albums with exception to "Virtual XI" which is Pants.
Maiden tunes have no shelf life (exception Virtual XI - 1 week)

But I have tried so many times to immerse myself in AMOLAD and even though I know its a great album to me it lacks something, it lacks that spark which creates the longevity of there albums, although it contains magic it isn't fully loaded with it. I preferred "Dance of Death" much more than this album.

I am alone in this thought or do other Maiden Fans feel the same way?

All yours

P.

Quite honestly I though it was a brilliant album considering the band has been around for 30 years. How many bands that are that old make music as half as vital as Maiden...none that I can think of. Are there better Maiden albums, of course...but in the totality of things it sits well among the classics. Glad to see there are some Maiden fanatics on ATS, I'm with ya brother!

Well its Ironmaiden!! I mean these guys rock beyond Rock!!!
By far my favorit band worldwide..
I have been inspired by this band ever since I was a kid!

I can say I truely do like the new album.. However I will agree with you..
Yet everyone has their own way they veiw the world!

In my book the Irons can do no wrong

These guys have been talking about conspiracy topics threwout their days in music.. And its good to share with the younger crowd..
Even the teenagers I hear from on youtube just can't get enough of them.

They are still rockin!!!

i am a die hard iron maiden fan- scorpions too- but i still think maidens best album was the very 1st one. although powerslave was the one that made me love them. i play guitar and i can only name on one hand every member of a band that are virtuoes- maiden is 1st in mind- not to mention dave murray never had a guitar lesson in his life!!!! that is very impressive considering how he plays. and he and adrian just compliment each other- love adrians emotional solos but how the way they switch leads and just wail is awesome. also if you you know anything about them clive burr was the 1st drummer but couldn't perform anymore because of ms and the band still helps him out- not many bands do that for a former member

How big are Maiden in the US? I know in the mid to late 80's they were huge worldwide, can they still sell out large arenas in the US?

Sell out for sure! 100% Ironmaiden would be a sold out show anywhere in the USA!!!

Personally I would pay 80-120$ for a ticket! I honor them that much to where I wouldnt mind paying a little extra to see such an Epic band!!

Back in the day, When Maiden came to florida tickets sold for 25$!!!

I was 13 years old, and had a great time!
Ironmaiden shows, are amoung the best shows I have ever seen!
And Ive seen alot of shows in my lifetime!

Maiden can take 10,000$ show, and make it look like a million bucks!

Ironmaiden is by far the best band in the world .. IMO
