Five packages of explosives have been found and disarmed in a department store in Paris, French police are quoted as saying.

The Printemps Haussman store was evacuated and cordoned off after the discovery, the AFP news agency said.

AFP said it had received a letter signed by a group calling itself the Afghan Revolutionary Front warning of "several bombs" placed in the store.

This is very breaking news...

Nothing online yet - it's just happened.

This is terrifying though. FIVE bombs - in a department stores? Nothing more than attempting to cause civilian slaughter and chaos.

Apalling.

I wonder how many minutes before the work Pakistan is mentioned.

Watch this space - could we be seeing a false flag against Pakistan brewing here?

Just my initial ideas as this story breaks.

Peace,

MGGG

Update:

I've not heard of this Afghan Revolutionary Front before and a quick Google brings up nothing.

I wonder what their 'agenda' is? If it's to get troops out Afghanistan, then why hit a Paris Dept store.

All seems very strange at the moment.

This is a bit strange though.
Normally Jihadists don't give warnings.
They just blow things up.
Maybe we want France to send some troops into Afghanistan?
And this is an excuse?

Yup - so far not much of this making sense is it?

Could it perhaps be a reaction to this?

www.nytimes.com...

Hellsing - You gotta find that prediction!

I'm trying to find the video

thing is i watched so many i don't know which one..

i remember thinking while watching the vid that this has nothing to do with the planet Nibiru and Ufo's as the title of the movie said and almost stopped the vid halfway through..

then it started getting interesting as the person mapped out the bombing sites in the US, Madrid and where else was it ?

ayway, if you traced the bombing sites then it formed a perfect pyrimad triangle type thing, and it has something to do with the rotation of venus.

And the prediction was that the next fake terror attack would be in paris, or berlin or some other place in close proximity to those countries...

so 3 countries were listed, all in close proximity on a world map view, out of all the countries in the world, 3 were named and 1 was spot on..

let's see what happens

I was about to go there today get my christmas presents ... Aparently the bombs weren't set up to explode it's just a warning from this mysterious revolutionnary afghan group. If you need me to translate some sources let me know and I could almost go over there, it's not far from where I live.

Oh and by the way we already have troops in AF they want us to withdraw before frebruary 09.

And it has nothing to do with any conspiracy, France is just one of the main european country along with the UK and Germany with troops in Afghanistan, it makes sense they want to strike us as well. And 3 non aligned dots ALWAYS make a triangle.

Thanks Demos,

Translating sources as they arrive would be most helpful and kind.

It's always interesting when a group that no-one is familiar with pops up.

Why a warning though? Why no detenator - according to Sky News? That's the odd thing. These terrorist groups usually just go for carnage and mayhem to make their point.

I still feel there is going to be more to this than is apparant at the moment.

Peace,

MGGG

Well the thing is terrorist groups are really independent and each of them has its own ways to proceed and its own plans. This warning is part of the terror. This neighborhood is in the middle of Paris where all the major and famous stores are, it's litteraly crowded all the time. People are going to be scared to go there now, which is bad for business 9 days before christmas.

What you need to do as Parisians is to get on with everything then - say screw the terrorists and carry on with your shopping and day to day business.

I suppose that is a similar tactic to what the IRA used to use. Create a climate of fear.

Are there any precedents of Islamic terrorists doing this though? I can't think of any to be honest.

Anyway, don't let them grind you down my Parisian friend. Keep going out and keep living your life the way you want to. Don't let them win.

Peace,

MGGG

I totally agree with you, if you get scared and hide at home you're letting them win. Thanks for the support : )

President Sarkozy is live from a press conference at the EU parliament, he just said that there were no detonator and that everybody should remain calm. The mayor is about to be on site with the interior minister.

This group, who is unknown, is adopting the similar tactics used by the Algerians extremists during their bombing campaigns. French intelligence has been monitoring the activities of Afghan extremists after the Taliban promised to "take the battle to Paris."

The group, Afghan Revolutionary Front, want the French to withdraw from Afghanistan by February but France are increasing their presence.

So far, the warning is only aimed at the French, but Britain and America are to increase their security around major shopping centres.

Well they've certainly picked the right time to try to scare people into not going out and spending their money. I just hope that the people can stand up and not be intimidated into changing their behaviour or 'giving in' to the terrorists.

Is this group completely unknown or does anyone know if they are a splinter group of an existing organisation?

We've just got a brand new shopping centre opened up in Liverpool city centre. I wonder how long before we have an alert here.

Peace,

MGGG

The French are evaluating potential links to the Taliban - after all, the group did threaten the French government.

Five "Sticks", not packages!

"No" detonator linked to them!

"Old" sticks of dynamite held together with cord!

Not as scary as it sounds, could even be a person with a grudge against the store...."Mr X" who was refused entry because he was wearing his farm clothes perhaps.

Disinfo by the BBC?, Sarkosy? who knows!

Glad I'm skint and don't do department stores in Paris.

Sadly, you are a few years too late.

I'd be surprised if you knew the definition of PSY/OPS.

A quick glance of terrorism history, you'll understand "dummy bombs" are used as a means of warning. Numerous terrorist organisations use it before the start of a bombing campaign.

the one question i would ask...who benefits from the fear, and who will be on the losing end?

strange...sticks of dynamite? traceable by precursors inside, or obvious writing on unexploded sticks. fingerprints come off of tape used to wrap 5 sticks, one fellow on camera in front of store is a suspect, could other cameras have caught his movements?
