Those people don't mean well to their children.
Did they do this just so they can split hair in situations like this?

Here in California I doubt if they would do anything but write what you want,my ex bro in law used to date a girl who made custom cakes, and you can only imagine in what shape they are formed, but as far as kids name he can just go by Adolph H Campbell,I had an uncle Adolph, nothing the matter with that,my mom's side were german, all her family had them too, that is unless thats his full name, sometimes in the south thay do give kids 2 names like Jimmy James, met a kid that was his 1st name, and yes his parents were idiots,as a parent how could you do something like that, the kid will have problems on his own, don't add any more baggage

The parents should be dumped feet-first into a woodchipper, and the kids given up for adoption.

Anyone who names their kid "Adolph Hitler" is pretty much, by definition, a worthless human being.

What a miserable thing to do to your child

My sympathies are with the kid, it's not his fault his parents are gibbering NAZI idiots, but IMO Shoprite had every right to refuse to put "Adolph Hitler" on a cake

I disagree they advertise a service, just because they don't like the name doesnt mean they can discriminate. Its like the kid is being punished for his parents bad decision.

It's a name, they should just do the job they advertise for and carry on. The cake is not for the true Hitler let alone a celebration of his b-day, just some poor kid with a life of hell ahead of him.

There's a lot of kids named adolph, hussein, mohammed etc.
What do we do now?

I don't think it's the "Adolph" part that has people upset - that's a fairly common name.

It's that they made his name Adolph Hitler, perhaps the most hated and reviled individual in human history

I feel sorry for the kid, but at the same time I can't stop laughing about the situation. The kid parents should be forced to change there child's name.

How mean can parents be these days...that's really horrible.

The parents of this kid have shown that they are in no way fit to raise children. It absolutely disgusts me that there are people out there that are willing to put their children through the stigma of having a name like that, just to make a moronic point.

Hopefully the child will grow to have more brains than his parents and disown the name.

Matter of fact, at three he's probably smarter than both of them put together.

i find it rather telling that the father and mother are simply :

heath campbell & deborah campbell

why have they not had the courage to change thier names by deed poll - if they are so smitten with nazism

why do it ` by proxy ` using thier children ?

This story sounds fabricated in order to attract our attention to the triviality of his name, and to focus our attention away from the real Nazis in power in the USA today. G.H.W. Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and countless others who behind the scenes and on the front lines further a Nazi Agenda.

But if we dismiss this as just a name, given to an innocent young boy, why not consider Adolph's innocence too? One man cannot be blamed for such harm, which in fact he never inflicted himself. This thirteen year old boy is an example of how he was unjustly victimized. We're all prejudiced against stupid name connotations, just look at what a sweet kid he was:

Now you know why Angela's mother changed her name from Braun to Kasner, and why Angela changed hers to Merkel. It would have been tough growing up, even in Nazi nostalgic East Germany. These days it is harder than ever getting a birthday cake personalized, without adding to the difficulty with that Hitler name!

Maybe in sympathy we should all chime in together "For he's a jolly good fellow, for he's a jolly good fellow..." ?

Sieg Heil !

You wanna know what really breaks my heart? Such an intelligent person only makes minimum wage scribbling on cakes and the client may actually have a legal case.

For all you people that starred responses for the client's rights, ask yourself this question. What if the child's name was "Little girl molester", "Nig@$rSs must die", " Death to whitey" or "Jesus s@#ks C@#K"?? Hey, you went there I did not. Think before you star!!!!!!!!!

Only one thing to say to this subject, its their own right to deny any customers in their private owned business.

If a family is so dumb and degenerated to call their children what these children have been called, its bound to confrontations in future to come..

Best regards.

Loke.

Ps. instead of pissing on the business who refused to service the parents, piss on the parents since they pulled such a stupid a$$ move on their kids and fuc... their future before the kids even had a saying.

Adolph Hitler is not "JUST" a name. It is a name associated with the most
evil acts is the 20th century. Anyone who believes that this is JUST a
name did not pay attention during history class or is sadly lacking in
understanding.

You know, I was discussing this very issue with my son, Alexander the Great, yesterday.

The parents are idiots, it's not a crime to be idiots and have kids and then name them idiotic names.

Moon Unit and Deewzil Zappa come to mind.

The store may have a case of discrimination against them if the idiots can afford a decent attorney.

The kid will have some psychological problems in later years, mostly from being around idiots, but mainly from his name. I highly doubt this crosses the line of child abuse. Swastikas, Nazi paraphernalia, or even the southern standard Stars and Bars hanging on the front porch, withstanding; presenting these items in a home is not child abuse regardless of your personal feelings.

The sad thing is that this kid will grow up and be welcomed with open arms by racist nazi groups. He could even be the next Adolph Hitler. But for real this time.
