As much as I'd like to understand something about our world and universe, I think that we are and will always be off the point.
We are probably looking too far away from the answer or maybe ther is just no answer to be found because we weren't there at the beginning of it... It's like trying to apply a mathmatic formula with a missing ''point'' (x-y w/e) We might probably never find but It's interesting to speculate on what might be the beginning and how it works because it's with people like us... who like to do things like that, who actually get something from it
Keep on the good work!

Indeed. That's because we can't even make out one single star in those galaxies (because of the distance), so there's absolutely no wonder that we can't notice a planet out there. Therefore, it seems totally logical to me that life, would it flourish all over, say Andromeda's galaxy for instance, would remain undetectable to us.

I have to agree, at this point of acknowledgement. Though we do have a rather "Non-fail-safe" method of visual aspects, maybe one day we will be able to pack our bags and experience the planet first hand.
"If we can just get this 'Faster than Light' problem figured out!!"

Exactly
Im sure there's life everywhere in the universe.. we are just not ready yet to discover it since our tecnology isn't as high-tech as we would need it to be ahhh gosh!

A little problem isn't it? MEH!
I hope we find some solution one day... maybe if we can create a huge craft that would FOLLOW a pulse of light then propulse out of it ( then we would be faster than the light) .. that'd be great but it's not that simple is it?

I'm going to share a very strange and practical story with you.
In 1946 there was a man named Searl, he was studying the effects of a new type of generator for producing energy at a lower cost.
What they ended up with is anything but "Other Worldly" for the outcome.

The unexpected the occurred .The generator lifted up while still speeding up, broke the union between itself
And the magnets and rose to an altitude of about 50 feet. Here it stayed for a while ,still speeding up and surrounding itself in a pink halo.
This indicated ionization of the air at much reduced pressure. Another interesting side effect caused local radio receivers to switch on ,of their own accord.
This could have been due to the ionizing discharges and electromagnetic induction. Finally the whole generator accelerated at a fantastic rate is believed to have gone off into space.
Since 1952 Searl and his co. workers have manufactured and tested more than ten generators. The largest constructed was 10 meter shaped craft.
Searl work has never been published in the scientific or the technical literature but many individuals and institutions know of his findings.

www.linux-host.org...

There are diagrams of this device and explanations from what exactly had taken place back in 1946, some truly amazing stuff. As Governments go, I personally think we have the technology to utilize space exploration, I just don't think they know what to do with the "faster than Light Speed" enigma.
I also think that they are scared to initiate the use of this device, and not only that, Roswell happened one year later?

"Sometimes things add up rather convincingly, don't they ?"

Off course they do, and that is an amazing piece of work you brought to me my friend
I thank you , it's really interesting!

I always thought that our Governments were hiding the technology for space exploration but hey! What can we do ? , We could try to make our own little craft , could we?

I suppose with the right facilities and equipment,"Anything is possible!!"
But, the information I have shared with you is out there, "Why hasn't anyone attempted in recreating it in the so called 'Garage' yet?"

Could be some 'Auspicious Eyes' wandering around to not allow such thing's to take place?"

you said that the closest planet similar to ours is 20.5 light years away...? and then you said, were looking back in time, millions maybe billions years ago..? you need to get your facts together.

1 AU is the distance from the sun to the earth, roughly 63,000AU is 1Light year.
If it takes 8minutes for the ray of sunshine to get from the sun to earth, then 63,000AU X20.5light years equals = 1,291,500 AU. X 8minutes per AU. = 10,332,000minutes/60minutes, 172,200 hours/ 24 = 7175 days or roughly speaking 20 years... how in the world did you come up with millions billions years?

take care,

AV

know whats mental? if you where say 100 million light years from earth and could somehow look at the surface, then you could see dinosaures roaming around. in theory

Exactly, that'd be awesome , wouldn't it?
If the human race doesn't disappear from Earth's surface, we will probably have the technology to see that far in a thousands of years lol, good for em! (IF we survive meh)

Only the light (100 Million Light Years old) from Earth has reached the person sitting 100 Million light years away from Earth. In reality, at that point if u look at the Earths surface, it would say "Spuddyboy, is logged on to ATS"

Mental part is: If some one sitting 10 Billlion light years away from us and having a look at this part of our Galaxy; then he would get an image with out our solar system in it

I don't think that astronomers are saying there is no life out there, just that they have not found direct evidence for it yet. A planet 20 light years away, is close, a 20 year lag isn't long enough for much to happen as far as life developing or dying off.

The technology isn't here yet that can even directly see earthlike planets around other stars. They are still measuring wobbles or shadows of stars to figure if planets are present, and analyzing spectrum to figure out what elements are present.
