Parowan Prophet predicts disaster will prevent Obama from taking office

www.latimes.com

After establishing his bona fides as an international talk radio guest and proprietor of a survivalist website that has "passed more than 100,000 hits," Freeborn wrote:

"I think that you should hear what my opinion about the Obama election is: that he will not be the next president. I said on my home page in August that if he lost to expect to see the 'riots' that 2 Peter 2:13 tells us about. He didn't lose. But the story is not finished yet. I still think they may begin the riots before Christmas 2008, as I said."

These riots, according to his prophecy, will encourage the "old, hard-line Soviet guard" to seize the moment and rain down nukes on the United States, killing at least 100 million of us.

Leland Freeborn broke away from his Mormon faith many years ago. Following an accident that put him into an extended coma, Freeborn recovered to announce that he had "been to the other side," and was now blessed with the gift of prophecy.

He and his followers claims that he has accurately predicted calamities such as 9/11, the O.J. Simpson acquittal and Al Gore's popular vote victory.

Independent reporters were allowed to interview him for this story and found him to be a man who sincerely believes that Obama will be thwarted from assuming the Presidency due to a coming disaster.

Freeborn believes it will be nuclear and to the West of his base in Nevada. The reporters never question his sincerity and leave it to the faithful and the curious to decide for themselves.

I do not believe him. First off, if the old guard soviets want to get into power there would have to be a coup. If that ever happens then you can be sure that the West will be ready for something to happen. Most likely we just might have a conventional war with Iran or something similar to that in that area. I cannot see how Obama will be killed or not allowed to take office. I hope that it doesn't happen. Otherwise there will be trouble in this land something the government wouldn't want to see happen. I will keep an eye as they say to see what develops from this site.

I believe war is coming but not at this time and with who it maybe Russia and China and a few others.

Nuclear attacks in the west may kill only a few hundred thousand to a million people nothing more and will be met with swift response by US and Allied Nations within seconds and Russia would be leveled without barely anyone left alive. You saw what happend to the Japanese in two citys and i didnt get alot of people as you would imagine with a nuclear blast.

This country like most others can withstand multipule nuclear attacks and survive!

I'm not sure he has the right cause, but he seems confident in his vision of "nuclear flashes in the West."

Maybe al Qaeda will deliver the next strike through L.A. or the vicinity. He also seems confident in seeing "they start to riot," for whatever reason.

Like you, I hope this is one that falls by the wayside.

Maybe what he's really trying to tell us is that failure to control emotions when faced with an unexpected loss can be perceived as weakness by those who would seek to exploit it?

Speaking in parables?

People from both left and right seem to get very emotional when discussing the president-elect and his coalescing administration. I would have to agree, then that we should keep our cool. Even without some vague outside threat.

A 100, 000 hits on a website doesn't authenticate any 'prophecy.' It doesn't even indicate if a video on You Tube is good or not. It only measures popularity.

Why exactly will these riots occur? Why will some die-hard Soviets gain access to nuclear warhead bases and start bombing America?

The arduous task of reading the tedious article concluded two things:

A) Another Christian misinterpreting Bible quotations.
B) Not the most cheerful individuals if they believe the Lord will vanquish and eviscerate humanity because of their decadent ways. Their prayers must be torturous with plaintive pleas for mercy - not how I'd spend my evenings.

However, I am not perplexed by these revelations. It seems the gentlemen in question is a "prophet" not prophet.

I do not believe this prophecy.

The Bildebergers picked Obama to be their puppet for the next four years.
I'm sure they'll make sure that he gets into office and does exactly what
they want.

Nope - not gonna happen. Does this guy realize it's not 1983? And, regarding his "Bona fides"... 100,000 "hits" on a website means nothing! Show me 100,000 unique visitors each day and then I might think you're a big deal. Secondly, publishing a "newletter" is like blogging - it has nothing to do with being prophetic.

The most likely scenario for the detonation of a nuclear warhead in America is a.) false flag operation blamed on those ubiquitious "terrorists" or b.) the actual launch of missiles from Pakistan should their arsenal be compromised.

I too don't believe this prophesy. I think that Obama is part of an insidious action or plan to bring down the morale of this country and to demoralize us.

A nuclear attack will make us the victims and hence can put us on a victim pedestal - not what the powers to be want! We are to be demoralized and brought down a peg or three. Not to be felt sorry for due to an attack.

I'm not sure if I believe this guys *prophesy* or not.

There's been months and months of people seeing *nuclear lights in the sky* in their dreams, right along with mass *feeling of impending doom* being reported.
It could be too much pepperoni pizza before bed and clogged arteries, but, I'm no prophet, so, I've got to go along for the ride.

But Your point is something else, and very interesting at that.
Something I'd like to hear you expand on.
If not here than in another thread?

I refuse to accept the word of a man who uses their religion as some form of "evidence" of anything other than a method of controlling the masses.

Having said that, he isn't really suggesting anything more than many already fear or expect.

It kind of goes without saying that there will be massive civil unrest, the U.S. government seems to be preparing for it, several think-tanks and economists are warning of it, we just don't know what is going to start it off.

I too didn't expect to see Obama elected, and once it was announced that he was the next president, I immediately began to wonder what would be done to prevent him from taking office.
I hate to be pessimistic, but I really still do not see certain groups of people allowing him to run America, or even to be the visible front man.

I don't see that Russia is any risk militarily, it's not in their interest to be. More likely, they're lining themselves up to be the next leading superpower as America falls away from the stage.

If it is in America's interest to be at war, however, I have no doubt that the CIA would use a false-flag attack as an excuse (a la Northwoods) to sway the public.

In this day and age, anything is possible. But civil unrest, terrorist attack (real or manufactured) and major turmoil are all relatively inevitable and do not require special powers to predict.

Thank you! My point being; often when you want to get even with someone especially if they have done something terrible, you may not actually want to kill them, because then; that ends the situation, and this person will cease feeling.

If you maim them so as to bring them down, to "humble" them - it often makes for a bigger accomplishment. To see evil fall, and be present for their downfall and have to live with the humiliation and ridicule, is far more effective.

We have been considered a narcissistic, entitled country by many, for too long! What better way to humble us than to humiliate us!

And as we can see, this proved false, and Obama became president on schedule.

He was "sworn in," but has he "taken office?"

And didn't BHO ride "in the belly of 'The Beast'" today?

I think the GLF/Goodchild ship approaches from the 'West.'

And, an earlier thread today discussed Al Qaeda's accidental use of "an unconventional weapon" in an Algerian camp.

Keep on the disguise and coat; danger lurks everywhere. Deny ignorance.

(I can't believe this thread is still "alive!")

Yes, he took office officially when he completed saying the Oath of Office, so this is one prediction that did not come true. So he's been on the jobe for something over 19 hours and 40 minutes already,
