JACKSON, Mich.— A Michigan man who was convicted of killing and cooking his wife says he should get a new trial because of new evidence that he was in a state of marijuana-induced psychosis at the time of the slaying. Advertisement A Jackson County jury convicted Kevin Artz of murder in 2001 and he was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. Authorities say he killed his 46-year-old wife Patricia in 1999 with a metal bar before dismembering and cooking her body in their Summit Township restaurant.
