This seems interesting.. Doesn't seem to be getting any time on the networks...

You would think the media would be going ape(stuff) over this to scare the populace some more.

Though it appears that it just hit the web 15 or so minutes ago, so we'll see.

False alarm??? Toaster Fire????? Or????

New building = many possibilities.

I would check electrical glitches right off the bat. I read a brief blurb on Politico that did not mention smoke. New systems are often quirky.

Not to mention that this new building was years behind schedule and should have been finished years ago. Can you imagine what kind of pressure the contractors were under to get it finished by inaguration day?

UPDATE: Everything has been cleared and apparently welding work in the CVC caused the smoke and the alarm. The CVC is preparing to reopen.

Welding work................Guess it wasn't a toaster malfunction

At least the smell of smoke masked the BO of all of the smelly tourists. Reid should be happy about that.
