All you can do is read the history and statements of those that tend to rewrite the real history of the anti-war disidence. If you'd lived it and breathed it you might think very differantly of Ayers and his neo-socialist buddies and what they did to this country. They still have their agenda and work for that socialist agenda. They have their candidate in office and will weild their controll over him to your downfall. It will be years till you realise what you have believed is your own falicy. When you do you will ask yourself 'What in hell was I thinking'! But by then it will be too late!

Given the situation now a Bill Ayers is what we need as far as Im concerned. You have the government Usurping what little power the people have left. You have the last of our wealth going to banks that are using the money to fire our people and send those jobs over seas. I can go on and on and yet we sit back and take it. We Americans are a bunch of P***ies myself included. I went to a Stop the FED protest but only 10 people showed up. The protests that actually count or stand for the right change gets left off TV like the Ron Paul Rally in Sept. Ayers stands for something different than myself as he is for Socialism and Im not. But we do agree on the wholesale slaughter of innocents for the agenda of money making and world conquest by TPTB

Big, I was not talking about now, I'm talking about then. He is however of the same mind bent as he was then and that is not what we need . I agree that we are being usurped in our power to regulate based on what we ,as the voting public, believe and want. Ayers is no friend in this regard. He is completely socialist in mind set. To me and many others, he is the problem, NOT the solution. He was wrong in his intensions then and he is wrong in his reasoning now. He and his wife should not be the focus of the present day and time, They should be ignored and those they support should be jailed. His type started the problem and they should be seen as such!

This is certainly not just a generational issue. There are plenty of people who “lived” it who don’t agree with you at all. Furthermore one does not need to live through a situation to make up their own mind about events, I’m sure there are periods of time you did not live through but have opinions based around. As for “living and breathing” the situation unless you lived it through several different point of views your opinion is no more than mine, you have only lived it through your own understanding. I’m not saying you are wrong, simply pointing out the unawareness in that sentence.

Yeah and I suppose we all believe that if he wasn't an associate of Obama, it wouldn't matter right?

Lots of people would be dragging up the Weathermen and discussing their virtues if he wasn't associated with the "Chosen One".

No sheeple here!

I’ve seen a lot of people discussing Ayers on ATS and a lot of them seem to despise any President, considering him no more than a figurehead. As for me I don’t believe Obama is the “chosen one”, I heard about Ayers long before he came around- but I admit I had little interest in the subject until after the press started talking about him constantly- usually when the press puts someone down that can mean the exact opposite about their character and actions. Made me curious about the situations. Haven’t discussed it here on ATS yet because it usually turns into these useless, condescending flames.

As for him and Obama I think it is possible Obama lied through his teeth about knowing Ayers, but I don’t see the big deal in him knowing Ayers. Ayers and Obama met on a board that was put together by political friends of John McCain who endorsed McCain during his presidential run, but I didn’t see him calling them terrorist because they associated with Ayers, or saying any of the Republicans who served on the board were paling around with terrorist. That was a weak guilty by association tactic; most political people have associated with individuals like Ayers, even John McCain. I’m glad the American people weren’t stupid enough to fall for it and realized it was deflecting attention from issues that are important to them.
