Oh boy, I'm super pumped about FF13!

I've been a die hard Final Fantasy game since the original. I've played them all more times than I count….especially 8 (my favorite)

I just finished Crisis Core last week (the reason I bought a PSP), and I can't wait for the new one.

I cant wait! Im getting that good old feeling again when FFxi titles are close to release!

Ive played every single FF title on the consoles myself also, with a highlight of being close to finishing the main quest-line/story-line in FFxi (Chains of Promanthia).

You know I never got to play 11. I could never see spending the extra money for the hard drive. Plus I never had the internet at my house to play it anyway.

Perhaps one day….

To be honest. Its getting close to that "now or never" time frame. Id say, new people have a year or two left in which they could reasonably abvance the story line.

I say this because there is already talks of the next MMO in the works by SE. Its to be a side game, and not replacing FFxi. Still, its pretty much expected that in the FFxi community when that game hits the shelves that FFxi will take a major hit, and the starting-to-mid levels are going to be where the hit is going to take place.

FFxi is not for the casual gamer, thats for sure. :bnghd:

Here is a new Character:
kotaku.com...

A scan from the latest issue of Japanese gaming and manga magazine V Jump reveals the first new playable black character to appear in Final Fantasy since FFVII, Sazh Kalzroy. Sahz is an unusual design from FF artist Tetsuya Nomura, foregoing the normal pretty boy looks for a much more masculine looking black character, the first to appear as a playable character in the main series since Final Fantasy VII's Barret Wallace. According to the text, Sahz has a deep love for chocobos, likes the color green, and dual-wields pistols.

Any news on the size? I've heard from being on one 50gig bluray disc to taking up TWO two hundred gig discs. Which makes me wonder what the hell is Microsoft going to do? They only have those little 8gig discs right? Since they refuse to go too bluray. How will that work? Will Square like, cut out hundreds of hours of game play, items, characters, monsters, quests, every thing, for the 360 version? Or will they cut out stuff from both? I hope not. I hope either they make it huge for the PS3 and cut every thing out for the 360 or make it huge for both and just stick 360 users with like a million discs.

Rumor: Final Fantasy XIII coming to Japan 2009, overseas after April 2010
~by Ross Miller Jan 15th 2009 5:22PM
~Filed under: Sony PlayStation 3, Microsoft Xbox 360, RPGs

Square Enix President Yoichi Wada (via Guardian) has reportedly told Reuters this week that the long-awaited Final Fantasy XIII will be hitting Japan in 2009, and overseas (on both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360) in the fiscal year beginning April 2010. Of course, that's still a pretty vague answer and we expect there's plenty of time for both release windows to be pushed back ad infinitum. After all, this whole situation feels like déjà vu ... from 2007.

Wada also addressed economic concerns, stating that operating profits for this fiscal year were likely going to fall 21 billion yen (US $236 million) compared to last year, or 2.4 percent. We wouldn't worry too much about the company, though, since the money-printing Dragon Quest IX is invading Japanese retail in March.

Note: It's worth mentioning that we can't seem to find this article -- sent out via RSS -- anywhere on Reuters' own page and have only seen one other source (Forexyard). Did it slip out too early? We've contacted Reuters to confirm the validity of the interview.

You Won't Play Final Fantasy XIII Until 2010
~By Luke Plunkett, 5:10 PM on Thu Jan 15 2009, 67 views

Waiting for the latest instalment in the Final Fantasy series? Great! You just keep on waiting, because Square Enix boss Yoichi "Imperial Hot" Wada has said it won't be out in the West until 2010.

Speaking with Reuters, Wada confirms that while the Japanese release of Final Fantasy XIII (which is exclusive to the PS3) will take place in 2009, the Western release - which will appear on both the PS3 and Xbox 360 - won't go down until at least April 2010.

Or, in a way I can put it to maximise disappointment, over a year away.

...In other new, this picture was directed to those of us in the western release regions:

....WE ARE STILL OVER A YEAR AWAY FROM RELEASE....

I honestly am sick of hearing of FFXIII, it's been a tease for way too long and I don't want to know anything about it until about a month before it comes out which should be somewhere in 2010.... I'm a proud PS3 owner and I'm very angry with square going to the box with this game!!!
