Try supporting yourself or a family while simultaneously competing with half the third world. That's the "reality" most of us "employed" who have "jobs" have to face.

Third world? i only know of only one world. Tell me what gives you the right to be employed and support your family and not them? What gives people like you to die of obesity while others die of hunger?
At least you have the Luxury to Vomit, some people in this world don't have enough in their stomach to do even that.

I understand what you are going through ... I am brazilian and live in Spain , legally , and also my family.

I have been looking for a job for more than one year here , the interviews usually go well , they like me , but when they see my DNI (spanish ID) , I am pratically dismissed , because it says "foreigner".

Although I haven't suffered discrimination by the people in college , or on the streets , getting a job is VERY VERY hard. A legal job that is ... I am pretty sure I could get an illegal job pretty easy , but i don't want to , not after all the trouble an bureucracy to get here legally.

I also never let people step down on me because of my nationality. Still , I met amazing open minded spanish people and made quite a few friends , so do not think every spanish person is racist.

I do know some tend to be xenophobic , like was said , African are the most discriminated , then people from South America , there are a lot of chinese here too!

I remember one day when there was an Immigrant Protest in Madrid , they just didn't go to their works , and guess what ? The city pratically stopped heh.
It is funny that they want immigrants to leave so bad when those have quite a big impact in their own economy , obviously those are the ignorants that have no idea how the economy of their own country works , or are simply racist/fascist

I will assume you are young, and hence stupid. So I will not hold your foolishness against you. Here is a simple experiment you can try. Go to any third world sh**hole and announce you would like a piece of their pie. Tell 'em you need a paying job, or a piece of arable land. Oh yeah, we'll see how enthusiastically they will embrace you(after the howls of laughter have died down).

What gives me the right? The homelands of the tribe belong to the tribe and no one else. It is the way of the world. What the hell gives you the right to give away what is mine?

I vote for open borders and unlimited immigration between Brazil, China, and India. Who's with me?

As you said i am young but not stupid only compared to you i have an open mind. What do you own on this planet? when you die i hope you can take your land away with you. You are the perfect example of Selfishness and greediness.

Your Experiment is as stupid as you... how can i ask to share a piece of their pie if they don't even have one?

If they are alive, they have a piece of the pie. And I guarantee they don't want to share it with you. But yes, they will be happy to share your piece.

Sure , why not? Actually the brazilian population is quite miscygenic , you can find all kinds of people there.

Many people fled from Spain during Franco's dictatorship , and to other South American countries. You would be amazed to know I have forefathers from Spain , Italy , Hungary , Portugal and even from Africa (although I wouldn't know which countries because the black people got here unfortunatelly through the slave trades from the past).

There was a lot of immigration to Brazil in the past , there are even japanese communities there , and I assure you , racism is rarely ever an issue and it is heavily condemned by the justice and general population.

I could give you a history lesson on my country , and why it is considered a 3rd World country if you like , and I would be a month writing here , but basically there is some corruption and the money is not so well distributed , causing great discrepancies throughout the country.

Life in there isn't that bad either , I can also assure you I am not poor (not to boast or anything but I probably lived better than many spanish live here) , and my life there was quite good , as is the case with most of the LEGAL immigrants that go abroad. They mostly go out to study , live a while in another country and get some experience to then go back.

You think the poor have the money they require you to get for all the bullcrap bureucratic paperwork ? Hardly if ever , those are the ones that come here looking for a "hope of better life" , by any means necessary , doing the jobs the spanish wouldn't want to do , the simple ones that pay bad and don't require any study.

You people from the "1st Worlds" can rest assured your government protects your countries very well from both legal and ilegal immigrants , you only have to worry if you work cleaning bathrooms , or taking care of the elderly , and things like that. If you studied and still cannot get a job blame yourself and your government , because as I told you , getting a legal job here is pratically impossible for an immigrant. So don't eat that crap the media feeds you and do some research , legal immigrants are far from having the same rights as you do.

That comes as a great surprise to this Californian, having seen his state grow 200% in only the last five decades, primarily due to foreign immigration.

Good news for our burgeoning homeless population, who have to sleep on the sidewalks while the immigrants sleep in warm beds!

Look into the history of your own country before posting this. Your land that you call America is not even yours, you are a foreigner there just as the immigrants, in fact you are an immigrant unless you are an American Indian.

*I can assure you they have a much easier time getting into Brazil than getting into a 1st world country , where immigration is much stiffer , but even if the borders were open , they would still rather go to your country , because of the illusion of best life ever*

*I actually thought you were european , but are you sure most of them are even legal? Most , if not all , must be illegal and either got legallized somehow (which happenned long ago as is not happenning again) , or they are simply there doing unwanted jobs. If anything I know the US immigration is even stiffer than the Spanish. Nowadays you need a permission to simply ENTER the US (at least if you are from Brazil) , even if only to exchange flights , something not required in most of other countries of the world*

*Is that so? Everyone US citizen is homeless and every immigrant has a mansion and is sleeping in a nice fluffy bed? I think not.
Oh my , the haves are not sharing with the have nots (and by that I mean solely american citizens towards their own)? Indeed greedy and cruel!*

Their trying to keep it beatiful by keeping people who should not be there out. I dont blame them if you had your own country would you allow african sub saharan criminals in. I certainly would not.

Besides having immigrants criminals you also have Spanish people who are criminals, so what will they do throw the Spanish criminals out and take their nationality away?

Countries or borders are just imaginary created by human greed. Bottom line is we are all stuck on the same rock and when we all die we are not going to take any piece of that rock with us.

While Europeans are trying to make their country look beautiful, there are millions in Africa dying of hunger. I ask you what makes the Immigrants Criminals, is it the dream of having the same life and comfort as you?..... We are the real criminals as it our greediness and selfishness that has led to this whole situation.

Indigineous criminals are the indigineous peoples problem. However immigrants are guests and what happens if a guest at your house misbehaves you throw them out.

I agree with you the situation in africa is bad but is it really our fault or is it it corrupt african leaders. Zimbabwe was doing fine until Mugabe went mental. What more can we possibly do to help them we already give billions in aid, buy fair trade stuff which is more expensive than european made stuff. The only thing else we can do really is invade and run their countries for them.
Maybe i am wrong i dont know im only young.

I agree with you that African leaders are corrupt.... but you have to ask yourself who corrupts them....Don't forget that most of the Guns and Bombs in Africa are not produced in Africa but in the US and Europe and the reality is that the bad situation in Africa profits the weapons industry in the US.

Africa has a lot of natural resources and yet they are the poorest. Ever asked yourself who owned the resources in Africa..... remember this saying divide and Rule.

Weapons don't corrupt. If a leader chooses to mislead his people then the responsibility lies squarely with that leader and those people whom support that leader by actively keeping him in office or by passively doing nothing to remove him/her from office.

People living in corrupt, tyrannical, despotic or any other do-as-I-say type countries have a choice: live with it or risk all by fighting against it. We in Europe went through this, we will go through this again shortly. The same with the USA, Russia and China. Sometimes we have to risk our lives to ensure our ability to live well.

Neither immigrant, indigenous nor foreign populations should be envious of those whom have worked hard and fought hard to get a decent, bearable, livable life. Those whom are unable to fight for themselves should be defended by those whom can fight; those whom are willing to sit back while they and their neighbors are raped should be seen as rapists for they are as responsible as the doer. Deny this? Why did we put on trial them whom actively supported Hitler? Why do so many of us scowl at them whom ignored Hitler?

In the case of Spain and much of Europe, we have many people coming here whom choose to improve their own lives at the expense of others (usually our indigenous populations) through violence, theft and prejudice. Most immigrants come here with good intentions and conduct themselves without detriment to others; but there are still too many whom act against the wellbeing of others. We have our own wrongdoers and must deal with them ourselves but the wrongdoers from other countries must always remain the other countries' problems and they should contribute to their punishment and detention by paying for it else enacting it by retaking the wrongdoer.

In the case of Zimbabwe, speak with them whom had their land stolen; speak with them whom now starve; speak with them who've lost dignity because they rely on the little charity that gets through.

Regardless of how the land was originally acquired before the displaced land owner inherited or purchased it, they ought to have been given credit for what they achieved - they (white and black) turned Zimbabwe into the breadbasket of Africa. Mugabe and others have helped turn it into a dust-bowl.

The charity we give helps keep Mugabe in power and the starving in place. Without that charity Zimbabwe might turn to civil war; which is inevitable anyway; and sometimes civil war can lead to something better. Look at the USA and England. Granted Russia went the other way and the USA and England are again losing their democracies. Consider why those democracies are being lost. The people let them be lost through complacency. Too much charity has led to reliance. Too much reliance has lead to inability to take responsibility, the unwilling to be self reliant. The best we can do is let Africa evolve at its own pace. We need to stop meddling because our meddling only drags out Africa's suffering.

It surprises me that so many people blame Europe for every other country's problems yet many of those same people keep returning to Europe (and Europeans) to ask Europe to intervene in their country's problems. Why do they assume they can have it both ways - blame Europe for creating problems then blame Europe for not fixing them. If you're African and want to help then go and help. Stop telling everybody else they should help because they shouldn't. Africa's problems began long before Europeans arrived. And stop concentrating on the bad parts of Africa. Tell me and others how many countries make up Africa? Tell us how many of those are struggling to feed their populations? Tell us how many African countries have leaders who willingly set out to kill their populations? How many destroy them whom do not agree with them?

I apologize for drifting from the OP but you did bring up the subject of Africa.

OP, the same issues are at play in europe as they are in the states, it's a touch arrogant to assume that what's happening here is a dry run for the states rather than genuine civil unrest. the people are no longer particularly willing to take this crap from TPTB. it's a worldwide thing. it has happened, it's just that the world hasn't quite realised it yet.

the reason the secound and third world are the second and third world is entirly the faults of their respective governments first and foremost. the first world can only do so much.

the former eastern bloc countries or japan are a good example of how it is really easy to go from economic ruin to first world in a few decades and have the first world fall over itself to help you up, admittedly just so they can sell you stuff, or china and india at the moment.

no, the 2nd and 3rd world can't have my piece of pie, they have their own pies. africa should be the bread basket of the world, they have the climate and the land to grow just about anything they like. instead they take food aid and monitery aid from the rest of the world and still need NGO's to provide basic sanitation and medicine while the continent turns into a desert!!!!

if you need a black and white illustration of this take a look at south korea vs north korea. what the heck are we supposed to do to help people that aren't bothered to help themselves?
