I'd say that there is not much of an opportunity to make an honest living in the UFO field. A dishonest living on he other hand... might want to ask Blossom Goodchild about that.

I don't think scientists make money on scientific projects, the scientists do them for recognition and advancing human knowledge.

Yes their is money in the UFO field, lts and lots of money. Books, TV specials, magazines, merchandizing, tourism (specifcally Roswell, New Mexico) movies.

Whitley Streiber for instance made a killing off his so called ufo experience wih his line of books followed by merchandise such as movie, the comic book adaptation and other communion merchandise.

So yes, the UFO field has money in it.

All the money in the world is waiting for the next technological advance. In the past the entire world’s growth was spurred on by the industrial revolution, and then the discovery of oil was responsible for the present-day boom. It is mostly agreed upon that the era we now occupy, is in its decline, peak oil has temporarily been put on hold by the reduction of Gas demand, this decline is caused by the reduction in spending power of the average person. But we need something to sustain our accustomed level of advancement over time.

But a radical new source of energy or propulsion technology would most certainly make the inventor of such scientific, technical knowledge, the wealthiest person on the planet. Advanced "off world" hardware has the possibility of being reverse engineered, and exploited for profit. If the Government of a major Military power has ever acquired such assets, they would most certainly be exploited for weaponization and tactical purposes first. Other considerations such as the advancement of mankind and/or science would be of secondary significance only.

But a private, (individual or Corporate), entities acquisition of extra terrestrial materials could in theory be transferred to the civilian sector. Is it likely for this to happen? If the Universe is populated by many advanced life forms capable of interplanetary travel, the answer is, yes. If we are alone, or interplanetary travel is impossible, then no.

Lots of money in the UFO field.
If we can't be assed to ure the search button for free, then ppl will pay to hear about "my ufo experience photos included"

Release the same story but substitute vampires or werewovles then we have twice the audience and a lot more buyers.

Let's face it the majority of our population either fears the existence of UFO's to the point of denying they exists, or flat out just think your crazy for believing in such "non-sense". I don't see something so "gray" being profitable unless it was put in a book, a fictional sci-fi context.

There is and there isn't money in UFOlogy. The bigger names are certainly making a living but the little guy usually has to subsidize his/her investigations with a 9-5 job.

There is money in the UFO field but not for serious UFO investigation.

Unless you make up a new-age like religion based on the UFO phenomena and start a cult, or spew out all sorts of bulls*t, propagate hoaxes and sell books/dvds/web access on them, there isn’t much money for you.

If you are going to be a researcher: No
If you are going to be an author: Possibly (not all books sell, and many are on the same subject).
If you claim to channel an alien and charge for your sessions: Yes

I think you'd be on a winner if you could link UFOs and porn

exactly, if adult films and ET money pulled in about the same. daaang i dont know how i would afford the bills.

anyway, to keep on with the subject i think there is money in the field. but not for those who cant contribute to the disclosure movement, many of those who are profiting are putting out ASTOUNDING evidence to the visitation of earth. or the geanie pig theory that ETs have pretty much created us and are observing us etc. etc.
