Well I have two odd things to add. I live near Memphis, TN and the MS River. This morning my husband calls from the car to tell me to look outside at the clouds. They all appeared to look alike. They all looked similiar to a Nike swoosh and they overlapped and covered the sky.
The other issue which was more disturbing was a goose tried to land on the expressway today. I was on the interstate and saw this large goose by itself coming closer toward the road. I watched and assumed it was going to swoop back up but it did not! It was extremely close to shaving its own head off across my windshield. I felt really sorry for it. It barely made it to the side of the interstate and was obviously sick and disoriented. It was odd though.

Very interesting thread.
I have been reading and watching this thread, keeping an open mind. I have lived all over the US and have been a part of some very extreme weather over the years. Hurricanes, Tornadoes, Blizzards. One thing I have never been witness to is an earthquake.
So today I am at work and going about my day. I was reading over a book, that I had on a counter in front of me. When for the first time ever, I felt a mild shaking. Now I have been working in this area for a little over 4 months now and never have a felt anything shake while I was at work.
There is a railroad close by and I stepped outside to see if maybe a train was going by, no such luck. I have no idea what it was or what caused it. It was nothing extreme, I never would have felt it if my hands were not on the counter. It was very very mild, but the counter was shaking.
I am not saying it was an earthquake or a tremor or anything like that, just that it was odd.

After the water levels being mentioned, I decided to do a little bit of looking around. The site below allows you to track real-time water date for the nation, as well as individual counties in each state;
nwis.waterdata.usgs.gov...
Also, the following address allows you to view a map of all the counties in a particular state. I imagine certain counties closer to fault lines might have more indicative water behavior, typical of impending quakes. I've provided this link to help with the link above;
county-map.digital-topo-maps.com...
Hope this helps out in following the water levels.

I am very, very concerned now after reading your post on water wells running dry. I wasn't too concerned with strapping my water heater down until I saw this. Our water heater is in the attic. I talked to my husband about this and he doesn't understand what the point would be in strapping it down if the roof came down anyway. I told him it is better to be safe than sorry and it could save our lives. Still working on trying to convince him. I may have to do it myself
Getting back to the water well subject, I may have missed this, but how long has this been going on? Is this in recent days or over the past couple of years? If it is in the last few days, all I can say is Oh Crap! I know that when I lived in Alaska I had old timers tell me their stories about the '64 great Earthquake. They said the quake was so powerful that it actually caused water wells levels to fluctuate in Louisiana during the quake. Now that is scary...
