Please disregard the link. I've resorted to this because I simply cannot find a link to post an original idea from my account. I fear I'm looking stupid like asking "have you seen my glasses?" while they are on my face.
This form insists on a source and story link while my thought has none.
Many threads do not have external links here, is this a "prove yourself" sitiuation?
I respect the integrity of this forum and wish to contribute for the greater good.

This is something that has irked me for some time.
For many years I've seen MSM newscasts on various topics that end with:
"It is believed" that yada, yada......
Believed by who? Believed by "authorities"? Reporters? Or YOU WATCHING? Talk about ambiguous.
Occasionally, I google "it is believed" and come up with returns such as a Twitter post and a blog about Sushi.
How far have we been led that no one questions a blatant NLP statement such as this?
Am I alone? Am I screaming into a void?

The reason it asks for a source is because you are using the "Breaking News" submission form. Just select the forum you want to post in and use the "New Thread" button.

You are not alone, I also love the stories where the criminal was caught red handed and the reporters say "ALLEGED".

This is their "Disclaimer" to avoid legal action by the lawsuit happy world.

That's because you submitted this via the Breaking News Forum instead of starting a new thread in the correct forum.

Another great one is "reports indicate that..."

What reports?

Who is reading the reports and thus decides what they indicate?

What is meant by "indicate"?

Basically by using these terms The media can report anything they want without getting in trouble for lying.

Another thing to pay attention to in TV news reports is the tempo they throw information at you. Often the pace is so high that you don't have the time to analyze and digest the information. This is a way of bludgeoning people into agreement and at it's core it can be seen as a orwellian type of brainwash.

I'd like to add that this is about the form of the segment. I believe that it's quite possible that Mossad had knowledge about 9/11, but this is just awful and manipulative reporting.

I was thinking along these same lines the other day, hearing CNN state "It is hoped that..." in discussing retail sales for Black Friday.

It is hoped by who? What level of assumptions are being made here, are they generalizing based on a set of specific quotes or is this just being stated as fact based on obvious?
