Is the history of the world the story of good verses evil?

www.guardian.co.uk

The gunmen arrived yesterday in India's financial capital by boat before fanning out to launch a series of bloody attacks on luxury hotels, restaurants, a rail terminus and an ultra-orthodox Jewish centre, killing more than 100 people. British and Americans were reportedly rounded up as hostages.

If so, which civilizations or movements represent good or evil?

Sumeria, Egypt, Hittites, Persia, Rome, Han dynasty, the Mongols, Aztecs, Incas, Spanish Empire, British Empire, India, Buddism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Wiccanism?

From a world perspective, when evaluating the events of this world, shouldn't these things be considered? If as a world community, we are to move forward, shouldn't we be working to understand the perspectives of others?

The answer to your question is YES, our history is the story of good vs evil, and all past and current events will reach it's climax in an epic, earth changing battle.

Understand, that many nations, many people fight an "honest" cause. In their hearts, they truly believe they are doing the "right" thing. They'll claim that god is on their side, and at the same time the opposing side claims the same.

So, we should try to understand who, what force is REALLY behind these acts of injustice, if you dig deep, you will see that this "person", this powerful force has it's own agenda and will stop at nothing.

What is the source of Evil?

Armageddon... a happy beginning

Good is what leads he spirit to direct it's attention inwards and upwards. To focus on the higher currents and higher regions to use the higher mind and the pure spirit. Bad is the focus of attention downward and thereby outward. To use the lower mind and impulses of the body and worldly desires and compulsions. There is not "Battle of Good Versus Evil". There is absolute good, absolute truth, absolute purity, absolute love, absolute awareness known as the True Supreme Being. But there is no absolute bad there is only inertness. Ultimately everything expressed no matter how good or how horrible is an expression of spirit or love. Though it may be very badly misguided in its nature. There is the "Devil" which is the lord or ruler over the regions of matter. This being resides at a very high level of the material creations and has no future in the purely spiritual worlds. It's life is in consuming energy from the spirits here. When the spirits go home the devil will have nothing left. The Devil is the embodiment of imperfections and facilitates their exhaustion in the spirits here. The Devil is above the "Gods" mistakenly worshiped by the old religions or in best case the Devil is the god so worshiped. The "Son of God" is not a high status. The agents of the Devil are always on the earth though the Devil himself is no longer allowed to manifest here. His time has passed and ended with the forms of Ram and Krishna.

Obviously, for the most part it is all entirely relative. For instance, ancient Babylon was all things at once. The cradle of many positive things such as a domestic and national system of laws (Hammurabi). But to others, in retrospect, it was an abomination, take the Bible's stance for instance. We pick and choose, and ethic principles will clash, I don't think it makes a different with regards to good and evil personally.

For example, to some, the basis of ethics if intention. For others the ends justify the means. The utilitarian perspective. While neither is wrong, they will disagree and call each other evil.

There is of course a limit, and that is when neither result nor intention is justified, such as the hotel bombings, and as far as I can see serve no ethic principle at all. Unless they believe that martyrdom or a sustained war are beneficial (which many seem to).

I find Good and Evil as bad labels to understand what is happening with human history, however if you consider the hypothesis as Fear and Love then everything starts to make more sense. In that sense we see that every civilizations embodies both fear and love and everyone of them has a flawed ratio, although some more than others.

It's all about the group mind, and as such classifying civilizations is pointless. This happens at the individual level. Some people are love motivated, and are generous and creative, some are fear motivated, and are selfish and exploitative. Sadly this last group thrives in authoritive control structures, and from this basic reality the NWO scenario is born, where elitism (fear based control class) oppresses the masses (less fear based, a lot of love based people, a more neutral emotional makeup).

The solution is a love based mindset, but that's hard, because fear these days is organised and represses love at almost all levels, and I'm not talking about the somewhat selfish love of a man and a woman, I'm talking about the generous love of life in general.

The history of the world is the repression of Love by Fear. Fear is the destroyer.

All words are labels. I think that what accumulates to create good or evil is large and broad, especially considering empires, or other vast movements such as religions.

What moves us forward as a species, and what makes us destructive are in more clearly definitions of what makes us good or evil. What cultures seem to enhance other cultures, and what cultures seem to destroy other cultures?

I disagree, there is nothing to indicate that the expansion of humanity is a good thing at all. Unless you are referring to a subjective view of good and evil.

Enhancement yes, expansion, not at our current world population.

I think current global population and continuing growth makes us seem more like a deadly virus than a civilization. Look at which cultures have stabilized their population growth, and which cultures continue to grow without reason.
