I've also heard that when your on your death bed, the same things happen to your brain the way it would when you would be "frying", seeing hallucinations, feeling that time is slow or racing etc. I've had some pleasent experiences myself, so if this is true then I'm not gonna be afraid to die, it should be wonderful and peaceful. Anyone that had died and come back to life care to share if they had experienced this?

Nice explanation and a good thread - I think this needs looking into a bit deeper.

You may want to take a look at my thread below, not near death experience but very similar thing i feel. I like how you explained about what your beleifs are may reflect your actual hallucination - I think the same can be said also of the people who have experience the 'god helmet' too (also touched upon in my thread).

Yes, I definitely agree with the majority of the OP.

'___' is a powerful substance and can definitely consume your thoughts into believing that the trip is a reality. The Spirit Molecule is a great read on the subject and comes from a clinical viewpoint.

Is this the chemical responsible for NDE? Hard to say. Hallucinogenic drugs need to be studied further to better understand the workings of the brain and to gain some insight into the mind/spirit. Hallucinogens have long been discarded as "street drugs" when they have been a tool used by religious/spiritual leaders for thousands of years (Food of the Gods).

Another connection lies within the dream state, as talked about in the film Waking Life (2001):

Ever thought of life being the hallucination? A hallucination that ends when you die? Dying is no death, its a wake-up call!

Death is not a hallucination. Life is the hallucination.

When you unplug from the hallucination you enter a world that exists outside of our reality. You will even see other entities that exist beyond your normal scope of perception. They get a bit annoyed because you're not supposed to be there until your body is actually dead, and they have to patch your consciousness back into reality.
