Reparations

Ok fine.

Affermative Action is not racist because intent has a good portion in that claim.

AA was a program established in a time most young disgruntled white boys weren't alive to remember and don't recognize the intensity of what was going on less than 40 years ago.

The program has worked although I think at this stage in the game, the true victims are those who are in poor areas (rural as well as Urban).

The schools recieve money mostly from the personal property tax in the area, which means the richer the area the richer/better the schools.

This transends race and in the transition period in which I would like to see national and state school reform on a major scale, I would propose that AA be afforded for college to areas that have been lackluster in performance and ability.

As for AA in the workplace, I find that minorities have quite a bit of legal power in the past 15 years at least. I don't feel that blanket policies apply any more, but rather to let the judicial system take care of the individual problems (which incidentally I think they are already taken to the courts, not always successfully though).

That's my thoughts.

As for WET. If you get Cable, your TV channels are not even as "diverse" as our country it.

Most everything is white entertainment television, unless you see Friends, Martha Stewart, M.A.S.H, Cheers, and Extreme Makeovers as "ethnic" shows.

A close friend of mine is Native American Indian and he represents it so AWESOME.

He isn't ashmed to deny his roots and his heritage. He dresses like it and he always reads about his culture.

His father is paralyzed from his waist down because of a car accident and both the father and son are very proud of their roots.

I remember a long time ago like 4 years ago some Christian kid went up to him and started talking about Jesus and he grabbed the Bible from out of his hands and he threw it in a nearby trash can, it was awesome.

The reason why it was awesome is because when he threw it out in the trashcan he said "it's Christianity that has poisoned and killed my people." I will never forget it..

Ive always thought it important to be proud of your heritage and your roots. I know I am extremely proud of mine.

Actually it's not christianity, it's not muslim, it's not agnostic, it's the people who misuse religion.
Religions all lead to the one big guy up there.
people have always used information to fit their own agenda, and by doing this they have twisted words, added on theories, and misrepresenated information that was not used for the kind of repetoire they so desperately wanted to establish.

don't blame the religions, but blame the people for their ignorance and self serving agendas...

That is so true. There arent many minorities with their own shows on TV.

actually i do agree with him....i am of hispanic descent but have been privaleged to go to a private school, which in this town is sorta sad because out of the three schools i went to i was in school with only 10 black people my whole life...

although it kinda makes me laugh because according to record, the african race of the egyptians were the FIRST TO ENSLAVE THE WORLD TO BUILD PYRAMIDS....

so how can a race that has enslaved millions want something in return for being enslaved themselves, just in a different time periods....

a system will never recieve equality until everything is equal, i was passed up for a job because of a man was black and even though was less qualified they needed it because of equal employement....ironic aint it...me myself a minority gets passed by another minority because he is darker...

this is not true in all cases, but you cannt put penalties on the white man today for the white man of yesterday, and i have even seen racist mexicans and blacks that wont give jobs to whites....go figure it goes both ways

I admit, I am prejudice towards religion. It's been used to oppress and murder far too many people. The damage that it has done to the collective human psyche will probably never be repaired.

You cannot deny the damage that it has done and still does. You may be able to say that it's not religion's fault, but humanities fault. Well, seeing as how humans aren't going to change their nature anytime soon, religion must be blamed...

I agree 100%. Religion has cause nothing but death and destruction since it was first invented. Im all for a person being "spiritual" but organized religion is EVIL.

Although this religion thing is totally off topic, I don't think that religion is evil. It is only an institution capable of all things, to include evil and good.

Any institution, religion, government, etc, are only as good as the componants that excersize it's influence. Since it is the people that are corruptable, flawed, and prone to error in judgement and greed the case can not really be made against religion itself.

to tell you the truth i have no idea who built the pyramids, but to do it in 20yrs it sure in the hell wasnt us without help....

but it is a wide known fact that egypt enslaved italians greaks hebrews etc from the known world....and if you go by the bible, and it actually holds water in this case for the exodus about the revolt of the hebrews, saying that in egyptian history there was a great migration....

then yes they built most of ancient egypt, but it doesnt stop there, once they were gone, lots of groups that were not christian enslaved not only their own people but blacks and europeans as well...

the roman empire was built by the trading of slaves, slaves by either black or european or hebrew or jew or even their own kind to pay off debt....they were slaves

but how can one race who almost invented what we know as slavery want reparations for a thing they STARTED, thats like saying i started a war, and since i lost i want reparations for my actions...etc you get the idea....

total equality will come when they dont ask for name or background, they just look at the qualifications and hire upon the basis of that, including sex preference is hidden, all one sees is qualifications, and if you cant make a decision upon that then you are racist at heart or unknowingly racist

Ok, wrong. The Hebrew Israelites didn't have anything to do with building Ancient Egypt. According to the Bible, they only built two small cities and both cities are under 20 feet of rocks.

I don't believe in Slave Reparations but you have to come correct with your historical facts.

No, you said the Israelites built the pyramids. The pyramids is far different than two little cities that were probably the size of a Burger King parking lot.

Ancient Egypt bloomed at about 6-5,000 BC. The Israelites got out of Egypt at around 1,200 BC. They were there for 400 years, you do the math.

and in reality, hebrews were exiled out of egypt long before the roman empire....which if i can remeber correctly was starting to take shape by 500bc....and the time of mark antony and octavian, cleopatra the last egyptian ruler as we know of ancient egypt was thrown slain in the some 100ad....thats 100 years after the death of Jesus, the exodus happened many many years before the roman empire started to take shape....so the time frame is there considering the pyramids were taking shape from 2000bc to the end of cleo's range or at least the last of the great monuments....doesnt have to be pyramids to be building under slavery in egypt

I only agree with reparations for Native Americans and African Americans.

Its obvious why Native Americans deserve reparations, so I dont even have to go into that, I will explain why I believe African Americans deserve them.

Blacks deserve reparations because they made no money as slaves. Since they made no money, they had no foundation to get themselves out of poverty when they were freed. This means that future generations also had no financial foundation. This is one of the main reasons that blacks are so poor these days.

i said slaves.....and didnt mention which group until the next post in which you mistated me saying the hebrews built the pyramids, go figure you put words in my mouth....

but i mentioned many races or ethnics besides hebrews....that were enslaved, they enslaved everybody and anybody, they were equal opportunity enslavers...lol

You're going to have to show me proof of how Ancient Egypt enslaved the whole world because I never heard of that. The only parties the Egyptians enslaved were the Hebrews and themselves.

Now if you want to say Egyptians EXPLORED the whole world then that's a different story.

but even so it was said that they enslaved people from the known world! that was including greeks and lower africa (not same people as lower egypt)

but they still used slaves, now if its the same slaves as the ones in the bible probably not....didnt say that you did, but the race is the same...

and many many many books point to slaves build ancient egypt whether it be themselves or their neighbors, but the fact remains egypt in their height took control of the mediterranian as they knew it....spainish were even there in the later years of egypt

do i think they explored the world? i think it was a possiblity, considering almost exact ships were found clear across the world at the same time, coinsidence probably, but i dont think it was impossible
