My Clock keeps GAINING time...!?

I have no idea what's up. For almost a year, I have replaced the clocks in my bedroom 3 times over. Each time I do, the clock begins to gain time.
Just a few minutes, then 5 minutes, then 10, 15, 20 minutes over about 2-3 months.
What the heck is going on?
No other clock in the house is doing this, only mine. For the record, they are all battery powered, not digital, so if anything I would expect the time to slow down as the batteries die. But not so.
Any insight into this? Anyone else having this experience?
Could it be that I have the clocks too close to other electronics? Of course, that should deplete the battery, correct?
Please no cheeky comments about it being my bedroom clock.Iam aware how you could take that south and run with it.

I had the same problem with a clock. The clock is in my bedroom as well. It's part of a clock radio. I used to have two clocks in my bedroom (both digital) and they were both set to the correct time.

After awhile the clock radios time would creep ahead of the other clock by a few minutes. Then I'd have to set the time back. And after awhile I'd have to do it again. Only have one clock in the bedroom now. No use for two.

The clock doesn't seem to be doing it any more. When it had gotten ahead again I put the time back. This time it was set a couple minute earlier than the correct time. The clocks is still a couple minutes behind and the time was changed awhile ago.

Are you replacing the clock with different clocks each time? Or do you keep buying the same one?

We have a clock in our bathroom that gains time much like you are describing. On close observation, I discovered that every once in a while the second hand would jump 2 or 3 clicks on a second. Over time that built up into a gain of 5 or 10 minutes.

We replaced it with the same clock and had the same problem. Then we bought a new clock...problem solved.

Another possibility is getting an "Atomic" clock. Those clocks synchronize themselves with a signal and all you need to do is tell it what time zone you are in and let it sync itself. I have a clock radio with that function and I like it a lot.

I have bought 3 different ones each time, but all of them are battery powered.

Are they hanging on the wall? In the same spot?

If so, perhaps the way it's hanging is throwing off the timing of the second hand, causing it to skip ahead at certain points.

If not....hmmmmm..

I have had all three sitting on a shelf above my computer and TV. Yes, I multi-task..surfing the net while TV watching.

Perhaps I'm being told to stop wasting my time.

Perhaps.

I'm sure there's a reasonable explanation for why that's happening...I just can't seem to come up with one.

Maybe you're at the nexus of the universe or something?
