I was thinking about this today, and was curious what some of your ideas would be. How will Obama turn our economy around. How is he going to create all these new jobs and industries when the rich are going broke and about to get taxed. How will these people with money invest in new industries to create new jobs when they are taking a hit now and about to be taxed higher... Ben franklin said once that one of the only three ways that our goverment can create wealth for our country is to invest in agriculture. I say we legalize Industrial Hemp. You?

Smoke and Mirrors.....Print more money, tell the folks that lost their $70 per hour UAW jobs that they can now help build a bridge, but, oh yeah, you are gonna get $12 per hour......

Oh yeah, when the "Office of the President Elect" first made the statement, it was to "create 250 million jobs"......24 hours later, it was, "save and create 250 million jobs"....

Smoke and mirrors is all weve seen, but i believe there are ways... i believe that the rich need to be taxed higher, but i dont believe now is the time. Its funny to see he has nominated the head of the New York Federal Reserve as the head of Treasury... this is a plan to seperate super elite and the now rich who will be what was middle class.

Not really asking that. What would you recomend. What are things you believe would work.
I believe Industrial hemp is an agricultural good we could benefit on growing here in america.. heres a few ways..

Livestock feed, paper products, nutritional supplements, medicines, essential oils, food, textile products..many many textile products, molded plastics, body care products, construction products, livestock bedding... and on and on and on. wow, we cant use these jobs or trade products or revenue right now.... hmmmmmm next idea??

Kind of funny he says he will create this many jobs and in another speech, he talks about a so-called draft of every man and woman 18-26. I think that would be part of the 250million jobs, no?

I live in a small town in the southeast with the only "good" jobs being places that make parts for the auto industry, Mahle and TRW. With the big 3 hurting, the factorys here are also in a bind and laying off people in crowds.
I went to the unemployment office and found three (3) jobs that did not require 12-120months prior experience and take a guess on how much they pay per hour....
1. $2.42
2. $6.55
3. $6.55
2 are 40 miles away, the other about 30. How is a person suppost to live nowdays when everyone expecting you to pay them to be able to live but no way to get the money?

The simplest, most certain way to create a few hundred thousand jobs, make the economy literally explode with growth, and bring in businesses from every nation is to cut the income tax to a flat 15%. And guarantee it will remain at that rate for no less than five years.

Everyone has more money to save and spend, businesses can buy equipment and hire more employees, new businesses will move into the United States, and the government tax revenues will boom.

But that's just too simple, so we have to go through all this jury-rigged bailout after bailout that will do nothing but further stagnate the economy.

These are our best and brightest?

More like dumb and dumber.

I know.
Since most of our industry is in china we can go there.

We'll be in prison but they will feed us rice and maybe some kind of bugs.
(chinese love bugs)

But hold on, they have the FEMA camps here and also an agreement with the army to use us for slave labor so we can stay here after all.

We will be so happy. I love big brother. 2 and 2 is 5. Obama is jesus

By going to war. It is THE only solution they have. They are repeating history. (ww2)

Most would say this has already been done (Iraq/Afghanistan). But, a careful review of history shows that the only way wars have energized and capitalized the economy has been if the country is forced into a total war economy (rosie the riveter). Are we prepared for this?

Good point and post........From someone who has been at "higher" levels of the USMIL, I cannot see anyway the current structure and authority of the USMIL could successfully be integrated with a "civilian national security force".

The more I think about the implications, the more it scares me (and makes my head hurt).

Well I imagine that he will be asking the experts on the matter about how to create the jobs.

The bush administrating will be able to help with not problem as they has been masters for the last 8 years to increase unemployment.

The following is my opinion as a member participating in this discussion.

Two words

Hydrogen economy.

Put the US to work developing/manufacturing/converting away from oil. Put the infrastructure in place.

Just a thought.

As an ATS Staff Member, I will not moderate in threads such as this where I have participated as a member.

Well, and i could be wrong, but this civilian millitary force would be paid well and would "be on the winning side" to quote some redneck local cop i know if they were Blackwater?? no? I see them as being very utilized in all of this.. like the Thai black millitary group that was throwing grenades into crowds of 3000 when our banking system crashed there system... there was a post here on it.
