well after reading that gem of wisdom i give up on this forum. there is nothing medical or scientific about it. sigh i was excited when i saw this on the board home page. its a shame that unqualified people are allowed to speak their mind here thank god people like me exist to keep america going in the right direction.

Well then, don't let the door hit you on the way out.
If you were so excited to see this, and obviously deem yourself more qualified to enlighten us, especially by thanking God himself for your presence on Earth to steer America in the right direction, then by all means all mighty one, SHARE your wisdom with those of us not so blessed.

If the human race survives planetary damage, DU dust, astroids, the threat of massive war, nuclear strikes and manufactured diseases, we will reduce our births, and start to nurture all life and this planet, and we most certainly will have the science to live hundreds and eventually possibly several thousand years, and we will join the cosmos in doing it. This kind of thing must be an all or nothing until we fix things up approach, or the ones taking it will be our absolute rulers and we would be forced to remove them by any means necessary.

I would vote for the people who make the most contributions to the advancement of humanity. Stephen Hawking comes to mind.

I think it should be decided more or less in the same manner as the Nobel and similar major awards are. It'd be nice to say let everyone vote, but humans being what they are we'd just have people's favorite celebrities getting it.

The reality is, the rich and powerful would get it, not anyone who *deserves* it. So I hope it doesn't happen.

Oh sweet irony

So I was looking to narrow down my selection to one person. I typed in "smartest people" in Google thinking I would find the Stephen Hawking types and other physicists and scientists. And this was my first result:

Hmmm.... scratch the democratic idea after all

We can't allow anyone to get it unless its for everyone. We don't need a group of godlike people who would rule us. We would have to dethrone them and rid the world of them. Seriously, I won't stand for anything like that. We're not going back to Babaloynia or Ancient Egypt kind of stuff.

As far as who is deserving to drink of the fountain of youth? No one. It is not a natural part of the life cycle and therefore it is a continuation of greed to want more than what you are given. Let it go and be grateful for the time you do have. Move along so that other souls get the chance to experience it for a bit.

what exactly is totally natural about the human life cycle anymore? not our diets, not our environment, not our technology, not even the way we reproduce and bear children is always natural these days. survival is one of the basic human instincts we do still have so i don't see how it can be attributed to any type of greed.

as to who deserves it - i'm not sure any one person particularly deserves it more than another but it's not hard to figure that it will go to the rich and powerful.

to me this is a situation of putting the horse before the cart. we need to sort out our environment, resources and political affairs so the world can sustain longevity.

No religious person would drink it because it goes against their belief of trying to attain an afterlife.

Those who do drink it are the power hungry people of the world. The people who want control, who want to gain more and more power, and those who do not want to lose control of their power.

But in the end, when the Earth ceases to exist, who wants to really be someone floating around in space till the universe implodes on itself?
