China Recognises Internet Addiction as New Disease

www.guardian.co.uk

"Feeling tense and angry because you cannot get online?" asks the state-run China Daily. Powerless to stop scouring eBay for second-hand bargains you don't really need? Unable to tear yourself away from stalking would-be love interests on Facebook?

It could be a sign of "internet addiction", according to psychologists in China, which could become the first nation to classify the problem as a clinical disorder.

I hate when I find out I've got a new disease!

I feel my use of the internet is entertaining and educational and keeps me informed of the latest news around the world.

Addicted to the internet, I don't I am, but different people have different views on exactly what defines an addiction.

China just trying to curb the use of the internet or is this a real addiction problem?

I believe this is just China trying to persuade its people from going online by saying that they may end up with a "mental disorder".

Addicted? Who? Me? Why are they doing this? I knew the communists would try to take over somehow. Well, I say let's resist them. Stay connected 24/7 and watch them to make sure they don't pull any funny stuff. The Chinese will pry my internet out of my cold dead hands.
