Funny from the day Hillary ran, there was the bickering and sexism from the right about the woman and then the minute it became apparent she lost and her supporters were trigger happy there almost became this "praise" and "recognition" of here and her supporters by the rightwing. I wonder why? Now here we are again, some unhappy rightwingers with Hillary's acceptace for the position. Wow.

My opinion, I am very happy Hillary is in. I would have supported her in the nomination as well had she won but she didnt. Hillary and her 18 million supporters deserve this and I hope that she and Obama will work well with eachother. The Clinton years were great before rightie came in and messed it all up. Hopefully with some clinton folk in this administration, things can go back to the way they were in the 90's...

As for the "change" argument, I think Ill wait for Obama to be in office for a year before I make any judgements. Thats what I did for Bush jnr and all the others before..

Well, I guess this puts her 4th in line to become president now.

Presidential Succession

1. Vice President of the United States
2. Speaker of the House
3. President pro Tempore of the Senate
******SKIP******
4. Secretary of State
5. Secretary of the Treasury
6. Secretary of Defense
7. Attorney General

Let's just hope, for the sake of those in line above her, that they all make it thru the next 4 years.

That is why Obama said change millions of times, because no matter how many times things remain the same or get worse, some of you guys will look at his brown face and think things have changed. You have been sold on a word and a face, tangible change has yet to happen, and so far, look at his decisions, same old witches, Zionist spies, NWO globalist, and bohemian grove fiends.

The man hasn't been president-elect for three weeks yet, and already a lot of you are out to get him. He still has more than a thousand posts to fill and rest assured some of those appointees will be Republicans and independents; you can't expect a majority of them to be because this is, after all, a Democratic administration. Obama will appoint Democrats, you have to expect that.

You wouldn't know it from much of what you read here, but a lot of people in this country liked the Clinton administration. He initiated no foreign wars, wiped out the enormous deficit run up by previous Republican administrations and oversaw a period of prosperity, in which the annual income of the AVERAGE family was RISING (compare to now).

I don't think having Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State will be the same thing as having the Clintons back in office. She won't be calling the shots; in this position she'll be a team player and I can think of nothing better than a team with both Clinton and Obama working together. I think they can do that successfully. She is one of the brightest people this country and is a splendid choice.

She can do the job. Richardson could do it better.
But this in no way is 'change'. Not even close.
Anyone who thinks this is change ...

You're right there. Al Qaida was running rampant during Clinton's time and he didn't get Bin Laden.

* February 26, 1993: Islamic terrorists try to bring down the World Trade Center with car bombs; killed 6 and injured over 1000 people
* January 6, 1995: Operation Bojinka, an Islamist plot to bomb 11 U.S. airliners over the Pacific Ocean, is discovered on a laptop computer in a Manila, Philippines apartment by authorities after a fire occurred in the apartment
* June 25, 1996: The Khobar Towers bombing, carried out by Hezbollah with Iranian support. 19 U.S. servicemen were killed and 372 wounded
* November 17, 1997: Massacre in Luxor, Egypt, in which Islamist gunmen attack tourists, killing 62 people
* August 7, 1998: Al Qaeda bombs U.S. embassies in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania and Nairobi, Kenya, killing 225 people and injuring more than 4,000
* December 14, 1998: Ahmed Ressam is arrested on the United States?Canada border in Port Angeles, Washington; he confessed to planning to bomb the Los Angeles International Airport as part of the 2000 millennium attack plots
* October 12, 2000: AL Qaeda bombs USS Cole with explosive-laden speedboat, killing 17 US sailors and wounding 40

wiped out the enormous deficit run up by previous Republican administrations

What he did was raise taxes for everyone who made over $35,000 per year. Do you remember the first two years of Clinton's administration and how badly America responded to them? Clinton had a Democratic majority in Congress for his first two years in office and when it became obvious he was making a mess of things, America voted in the Republican Congressional majority.

and oversaw a period of prosperity, in which the annual income of the AVERAGE family was RISING (compare to now).

You can thank the late, great president Reagan for that period of prosperity along with the Internet bubble. Clinton's presidential era was ariding the coat tails of Reagan's administrative years. Clinton had absolutely nothing to do with it.

Lets not forget it was Clinton and his buddies, that got the subprime mortgage mess rolling. Thus leading to the disastorous economic state we are in now. I know a lot of people still want to bash Bush over the economy and yeah, it did get left unchecked during the last 8 years. However it was Bill who got this bad situation started. I wonder how much more this country has to endure before they realize Red guy vs. Blue guy is a farce.

I'm not sure what is so surprizing about this. Were you guys expecting him to pick some no name, no connections outsider? A Sec. of State requires a global reputation and a generally good one to be effective. Clinton was the obvious choice...and given the realities of the world..not a bad one. The only problem here is that Obama's first term is shaping up like Bill Clinton's third.

I for one am ambiguous about Clinton as Sec. of State. I think that Bill Richardson would be a much better pick. I think she would make a much better Sec. of Health and Human Services.

Still there is no denying that the woman has the brains and she knows how to play hardball.

THE CLINTON BODY-COUNT

[edit on 11/22/2008 by Keyhole]

Ok let me be the first to say how ridiculous that clinton body count is.

Take this for example:

Five Navy aviators
Clinton bodyguards/escorts
(names not determined) died: 3/26/93 - all died in a crash of an E-2C Hawkeye in Italy. The crash occurred shortly after the plane was "waved off" from a landing attempt on the Carrier Roosevelt, due to a "foul deck". - All five men had been Clinton's escorts during Clinton's visit to the Roosevelt 2 weeks prior. Three other men, who had flown Clinton to the Roosevelt for that visit also died later in a helicopter crash.

The squadron which lost that bird was VAW-124. I was a "plane captain" (think crewchief) in that squadron and was there when it happened. I can tell you for a fact that unless Clinton has some sort of power over the weather in the Med, then he had nothing to do with it.

It was an awful mess, that haunts a lot of us to this day. Keep in mind that the CO of the fighter squadron waved himself off that deck because the weather was horrible!

I'm just disgusted that anyone would suggest that these close friends of mine died because of a conspiracy.

To be honest, I am not a huge fan/supporter of Hillary. I think she is about as evil as they come. I certainly hope that Obama can put her in her place.

It's obviously the other way around. Obama is just the second Manchurian Candidate after Bush Junior. Wake up USA.

Hillary Ineligible for Cabinet Post?
The source of the issue is something called the Emoluments Clause.

Have they burned the Constitution yet.
