It must be the same event. I've heard of no others reported.

I believe that the authorities and scientist like to keep that as confusing as possible in order to keep souvenir hunters at bay.

A space cowboy from south of the border is offering big bucks for the first found pieces of giant rocks that fell to the earth.
Countless reports of fire in the sky east of Edmonton Thursday evening, followed by an ear-gouging sonic boom are proof enough for meteorite man Robert Haag, that the sky was falling.
“This is the coolest treasure hunt of the decade,” he said. “It's going to cost the government nothing, and it's all about free enterprise.”
The space rock collector is offering a cool $10,000 for the first piece recovered from the meteor, which, by talking with residents all through the area, he's certain fell near the tiny town of Macklin, Saskatchewan, 100 km south of Lloydminster.
He said that if the reward isn't enough motivation to get doubtful residents on the hunt, he'll up the ante.
“If nobody cares about it and it's not worth anything, then nobody will get up off their couch and keep watching Spongebob,” he said. “People don't often believe it. People often do nothing, and then a kid will get on his bike and ride for five minutes and find the equivalent of a brand new Corvette.”
Haag said meteor hunters should be on the lookout for rocks that look like slabs of melted concrete slathered with black paint, and that if one is found, more will be close by.
Haag said the those most likely to discover pieces of the meteor, are those that heard the boom, indicating they're likely within 30 kms of where it fell.
