NO!!!
Obama supporters knowing little about real election issues?
Come on! I refuse to beleive it.

I mean Howard Stern's crew interviewed a bunch of people around NYC who were voting for Obama and all of them correctly identified Sarah Palin as Obama's running mate. Most supported Obama's Pro-Life position and most supported Obama's "Stay the course" campaign promise about Iraq.

And now you guys come out claiming that the general electorate doesn't have a clue!?!?
I'm astounded!

Ok, now that I've gotten rid of the sarcasm, you can clearly see the very sad state of affairs in this country. Most HS Seniors can no longer pass 5th grade geography or 5th grade government. And sadly, many HS Seniors are eligible to vote. Most scary, 93% of all voting age HS Seniors who voted, voted for Obama. I rest my case...

I agree with Nate Silver..

"Many of the questions included items that were misleading, taken out of context, or arguably untrue, but which were represented as factual to the respondent," Silver wrote in an e-mailed statement. "The only reason that Mr. Ziegler's original survey got stupid answers from Obama's supporters is because he asked stupid questions."

But that was the whole point of the McCain Palin Campaign, to flood the mediasphere with so much propaganda that it would be difficult to see any truth.

Says who? Aside from the 2 weeks spent bashing Obama on the William Ayers thing (which the GOP admitted was a mistake) McCain spent the rest of the time discussing the issues. .

Oh lord Sos ...you can't believe this. Revisionist history is difficult with the internet these days.

Associations (guilt by)...Wright..Obama is a scary black man who doesn't like white people...Ayers...Obama is a terrorist...Khalidi..Obama is a terrorist and against Israel/lets get the Florida vote tactic, Socialist...Palin "no time to be experimenting with socailism" "Palin' around with terrorists" Wink Wink. Questioning his love of country/patriotism. Ditto his wife.

Not to mention the whole "there are questions about this guy that need to be answered" which was the campaigns fear inspiring tag-line for months. When asked what questions...there was always evasion and silence, a clear (wink wink) encouragement to the rest of the right wing that was slinging every piece of hate inspiring outlandish garbage out there AND this is just what i can directly atrribute to the McCain camp off the top of my head!

Shall I do some googling for idiotic things Tucker Askew and the rest of McCain's crew has said about Obama, his wife and family during this past campaign?

I am trying to forgive and forget, but geez, really are you claiming that McCain ran a clean campaign on the issues!!??

FYI - This ugly tactic of rhetoric laden with fear and hate inspiring buzzwords put our future President's life at risk. At least according to the Secret Service!!

Sarah Palin blamed by the US Secret Service over death threats against Barack Obama

The Secret Service warned the Obama family in mid October that they had seen a dramatic increase in the number of threats against the Democratic candidate, coinciding with Mrs Palin's attacks.

Michelle Obama, the future First Lady, was so upset that she turned to her friend and campaign adviser Valerie Jarrett and said: "Why would they try to make people hate us?"

The revelations, contained in a Newsweek history of the campaign, are likely to further damage Mrs Palin's credentials as a future presidential candidate. She is already a frontrunner, with Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, to take on Mr Obama in four years time.

Details of the spike in threats to Mr Obama come as a report last week by security and intelligence analysts Stratfor, warned that he is a high risk target for racist gunmen. It concluded: "Two plots to assassinate Obama were broken up during the campaign season, and several more remain under investigation. We would expect federal authorities to uncover many more plots to attack the president that have been hatched by white supremacist ideologues."

In the thread here about that particular topic, it was also shown that the death threats (kill him, etc.) that one person said they heard at a Palin rally could not be confirmed by anyone else who was at that rally. It was one person claiming they heard that, and none of the secret service agents who were spread throughout the crowd heard it, none of the other reporters heard it, none of the citizens in the crowd heard it. And Obama was told that the claims could not be confirmed since no one heard it except one reporter. And as was pointed out in that thread, it's hardly her fault if someone takes their personal political thinking and twists it into hatred for the candidate they don't support. That would be like blaming Obama for the actions of his supporters against those who didn't support Obama.

...a dramatic increase in the number of threats against the Democratic candidate, coinciding with Mrs Palin's attacks. ...

They aren't talking about that one questionable event.

The Secret Service released this information now...after the election and after they had investigated that supposed supporter yelling "kill him" and found it lacking witnesses.

So in the context of the present tense looking back...they stated there was a "a dramatic increase in the number of threats against the Democratic candidate, coinciding with Mrs Palin's attacks."

They are not talking about what you refer to, they are talking about threats that weren't reported to the media.

From your source:

The attacks provoked a near lynch mob atmosphere at her rallies, with supporters yelling "terrorist" and "kill him" until the McCain campaign ordered her to tone down the rhetoric.

So yes, it is referring to one persons claims of hearing someone shouting "kill him". I have yet to see an actual quote from a member of the Secret Service that says "It was Palin's fault Obama was being threatened." And really, the rest of your source is merely a bash-fest of Palin in general. No bias there, I'm sure.

They've already managed to stop a few of the drooling children of Deliverance: the Colorado meth addicts who spewed racist rants at the DNC, the 24-year-old Ohioan who loitered outside Obama's hotel with a knife, the skinheads from Tennessee and Arkansas who planned to take out the senator and 102 other African-Americans. As of late October, the Secret Service says, there had been more than 500 threats made to Obama's life,
men.style.com...

So yes...they are not just talking about some yahoo yelling "kill him" at a rally.
And yes...the dramatic uptick in threats corresponded with the late mid October rhetoric that he was "palin' around with terrorists"...I hold to my opinion that the hateful and fear inspiring rhetoric from the McCain/Palin campaign was reckless and was fodder for whacko's looking to threaten the life of our President Elect and the Secret Service agrees as indicated in my earlier post.

Newsweek: The Secret Service and the Obama Death Threat
But even before Obama cited "reports" of the threats at the debate, the U.S. Secret Service had told media outlets, including NEWSWEEK, that it was unable to corroborate accounts of the "kill him" remarks—and according to a law-enforcement official, who asked for anonymity when discussing a political matter, the Obama campaign knew as much. Now some officials are disgruntled that Obama gave added credence to the threat by mentioning it in front of 60 million viewers.

I'm sure him mentioning it in front of 60 million viewers at the final Presidential debate didn't give anyone any ideas either, which coincidentally was also in mid-October. There are several threads around here about the death threats he received, no one is denying he got them. But your source makes it a point to bring up the "kill him" remarks supposedly heard at a rally yet fails to mention that the Secret Service told the media it was unable to corroborate those accounts.

All of this is neither here nor there though, as this particular thread is supposed to be about a Zogby poll, not Obama death threats.
