What's going on?

Aren't we all supposed to be coming together now that Obama has won?

What I have seen here since Obama became President elect is more and more of the members who so adamantly supported Obama coming out with threads accusing others of racism.

My question is why?

Weren't you the same ones who were so fiercely opposed to any hints of racism and fear mongering from non Obama supporters? Weren't you the same ones who would cry foul anytime anyone created a thread detailing an Obama supporter acting out of line?

Now those same people are on here spreading more hate, and more fear accusing those who don't support Obama of racism.

The same people who claimed they were voting for Obama to put an end to useless partisanship and political rhetoric are now engaging in the same acts they were so strongly against.

Ironically, I'm finding that the ones who were against Obama during the election, are now the ones trying to work together and figure out what's best for the country. All the while the Obama supporters are doing their best to continue divisive politics and rhetoric.

I guess I'm just confused now.

I thought Obama was going to change this.

All I've seen from posters that were against Obama since he was elected is chicken little tactics and introspective ramblings on how to get the conservative movement back on track. With sprinkles of: "Is Obama the Antichrist/Hitler?!" in there for good measure.

So in that regard I don't know what forums you're talking about because you're obviously not talking about any forums here on ATS.

Afraid not.

I've seen many (too many honestly) threads from McCain supporters and others wishing Obama well and admitting that he won fairly and that they will support him until he loses their trust.

The Antichrist threads and the like are irrelevant to my point, because those are; excuse me here; loonies.

Furthermore, what do "introspective ramblings on how to get the conservative movement back on track" have to do with Obama? Those are non related to this either.

What I'm talking about are the threads in which Obama supporters continue to attack Sarah Palin, even though she is a non issue now. The threads where Obama supporters continue to accuse others of racism for not supporting their candidate.

Surely you've seen those threads all over the main page?

If not, I'd be happy to point you in the right direction.

Well sir, without further ado, get to the pointing. I also have seen little or no Obama supporters claiming racism.

Here are two that I pulled from the main page just now without even using the search feature.

Obama election spurs race crimes

After Obama's win, white backlash...

Just hit "recent posts."

did a search for,,,

Mccain =0

Obama =9 (all negative).

I am still looking to see if I can find what your talking about.

Those are both news stories with attendant discussion. Try again maybe?

And what about those who didn't and don't engage such on either side of the election? Will you give them credit? I've read you speak out against partisanship yourself. Doesn't the presentation make this a rather divisive post in itself? And in what way is it bringing anyone together for the betterment of the country?

I'm not trying to be divisive here. I'm simply asking a question.

Why do those who claim to have supported Obama to end this kind of thing, continue to participate in it.

Why not let these racism accusations die off like they deserve to?

Why keep attacking each other?

Who's attacking someone? Had you read my last post, you'd have most assuredly seen that both of your "examples" are news links. Who's being attacked? Do YOU even know what point you are trying to get across?

An excellent question. For me, I see no reason and never have. And so will continue to do my part by not instigating.

Sure I do.

Let's take a look at some quotes from those threads shall we?

bitter people that cling to their guns and religion...and this is exactly the example those white conservatives are setting

Pull the troops out of Iraq to surround the White House as millions of Republicans load up their pick up trucks and drive to the White House to kill him.

Neocons must be drooling, sick humans indeed, too bad they're as worthless and meaningless as my invisible pen.

There's a little of what I'm talking about.

Here is another example in the news recently...

Obama supporters racially attack white woman...

It's not just on ATS. It's everywhere.

For some reason, even though their candidate won, so many Obama supporters continue to harbor such anger.

I'm just confused as to why.

You said yourself in your original post: "Ironically, I'm finding that the ones who were against Obama during the election, are now the ones trying to work together and figure out what's best for the country."

That's what I'm responding to, and I've pointed out that I haven't seen anything like this on these forums.

So please, give us a nice long laundry list of threads full of McCain supporters that wish Obama well and discuss Obama's upcoming presidency without being snarky and that are void of chicken little tactics.

Sure you get one or two posts every now and then that are neutral to Obama, from someone that didn't vote for him, but that's hardly what you're original post was saying.

What's so ironic is nyk537's own thread doesn't even qualify.

I don't understand what the point of these types of threads is. What do you hope to accomplish with being super negative about people voting or supporting somebody. Do you think that they will go "omg you were right, I'm going to work on getting him impeached right away!"?

You do know he isn't even in office yet? Change takes time...

You can like him or hate him but making these type of threads doesn't help anything. Now if you want to provide theory's that he is some NWO/Alien/Lizard, go for it. That would serve a better purpose the what your going for here.

And just how are any of these so called examples accusing anyone of racism, as you complained of in your original post?

Im no search guru, but it seems I can't find a thread containing anything like that. I've tried the obvious, "McCain supporters wish Obama well". Maybe there is and it's out there and I can't find it.

But what I did noticed was, when you needed an Obama link, you had two. You even added an extra one. I'm not trying to get on your case, it may help us come together if someone [preferably you] posted a link containing to what you said. Then possibly this wouldn't seem like such a partisan thread.

Its strange ya know.. I am yet to see one Obama supporter actually outright accuse a member here purely for not supporting Obama... better yet I am yet to actually see a thread by a mccain supporter wish Obama well.

interesting.
