Cross burnings. Schoolchildren chanting "Assassinate Obama." Black figures hung from nooses. Racial epithets scrawled on homes and cars.

This is getting crazy. Hopefully things and people will

It is unbelievable how racist people in the US are. Will we ever over come it?

I had a guy come out to do a cement job at my house. He started with a slew of really off color racial jokes and I told him that I didn't appreciate his talking like that, to stop and told him he was here to do a job, not spread his racism at my house.

He acted like I was the one with the problem and ignored me to the point of being rude the rest of the day. I'll never hire him again, nor will I recommend him even though he did a great job on my cement work.

I just don't understand people.

Potok, who is white, said he believes there is "a large subset of white people in this country who feel that they are losing everything they know, that the country their forefathers built has somehow been stolen from them."

Seems like a whole lot of white people forgot who actually built America.

Man, will this ever die? Are people really that stubborn, that they can't accept a black man as president? That they have to act out in such a disgusting manner? I always say to myself that all these problems with race will slowly die off and people will start seeing each other as equals rather then judging someone by the color of their skin. But, alas, it seems like it wont happen in my life time.

"Someone once said racism is like cancer," Ferris said. "It's never totally wiped out, it's in remission."

How sadly true that is.

Why would we somehow not assume that this will happen? BO was ellected by a 2% margin. He represents (to millions) extreme liberalism. inexperience, lack of ability to work with both parties, extreme racial bias, probable antichristian bias, antiwhite hatred, socialism, a bias toward terrorism and last but not least anti Americanism.

So we are somehow surprised that the country is divided against this guy? Who is surprised? Please realise what is going on and become accustomed to it. We have 4+ more years? Change is in the air!

Can you get rid of racism? the answer to that is NO.) I am a music producer that deals with people of all races. And I dont care who you are, or what you potray, but racism has been around longer than any of us can think or read about. It is impossible to get rid of racism because people have been raised with certain beliefs passed down by them through their families, or friends. Think about it, how many times do you drive down the street, get cut off by someone, look at them, then automatically say something negative about either their appearance? "you stupid fat white trash #$#$ learn how to drive"..or whatever. Its bred in us. whether it be blk vs wht..blk vs asain..korean vs chineese....doesnt matter. Racism isnt a personal problem, its a global problem..it will never cease unless something greater comes into the picture to rid itof such(say for instance something from another world). But until that day, we have to make due with the hate, and use it for our survival(Kind of like prison). You may not be a racist, but the first thing you do is go to the group who looks just like you because you know better than to do otherwise. When the @#$# hits the fan, you do what you got to do. Racist Hate crimes going on right now?
Of course, and I would think I was crazy to not seeing it happen.

I am not surprised that we are divided on our President, we always are.

There is however a difference between being divided based on Obama and his policies/party affiliation and being divided based simply on Obama's race and therefore racially insult millions of other Americans in an attempt to spite him. It's funny how we are told everything is equal and fair and that racism is a non-issue, but once we get a black president the bigoted truth starts to surface. We should deal with it honestly.

I didn't dig Bush, but I didn't express my sentiments by saying all white people should be burned and/or hung. How can I insult an entire race in an attempt to swipe at Bush?

You do see the difference right?

No racist crimes reported in my neck of the Woods. Washington.

Sounds to me more like a few people trying to stir up crap by making it a story.

I love how white people essentially elected Obama, but we're all still racist. This could be one or two guys making trouble, but suddenly its "white people" that are causing the problem.

Lets be honest about some things too. Obama attended an anti-white racist church for 20 years and referred to people living in these areas as "bitter clingers to guns and religion". I'm just saying that he has baggage that would haunt ANY president, no matter what color he is.

How 'bout it! I can't believe how many Obamites make prejudice statements about those who simply disagree with Barack Hussein Obama's political position like "racist", "bigot", etc. Bunch of obviously prejudice individuals who require a government course in "race relations"! These Obama supporters are unreal (won't even listen to facts without pulling out the "racist" statement - how prejudice!

This is simply disgusting. I am ashamed of my fellow Americans. This is the recipe for martial law, and I hope these fools are rightfully abused for embarrassing and destroying the whole foundation of which America stands for. Neocons must be drooling, sick humans indeed, too bad they're as worthless and meaningless as my invisible pen.

bitter people that cling to their guns and religion...and this is exactly the example those white conservatives are setting. i know it's hard for republicans to actually think that obama is smart, with what you have had to work with for the last 8 years as your leader.

an anti-white racist church? you can back that up right? i mean you must have been there listening for a while right? FOX NEWS and YOUTUBE must have graced you with in-depth and undenible research material, right?

So, first you're proud of Americans for voting Obama, now you're disgusted with them because some random, faceless people have burned a cross? What in the world does this have to do with "neocons"?

People like you scare me, because you're too quick to demonize a whole group of people to make you feel good about yourself. Instead of being rationale and taking a critical look at this, you're willing to label a while group of people racist, in order for you to feel superior.

I'm worried about what people like you are going to do in this country, when people start to disagree with Obama. His supporters and him are going to paint all dissenters as racist and you will be right there with your pitch fork.

This is non story thats meant to make people scared of those sneaky white people and set the stage for ALL dissenters to be labeled racists.

Any church that screams at its flock about how white people engineered AIDS to kill off black people and honors a man like Louis Farrakhan, definitely doesn't have a warm fuzzy for white people. Thats like telling me a white church tat blames black people for raping their woman isn't against blacks. Which, I beleive Wright also accused whites of.

What I'd REALLY like to know is how you guys know these acts were perpetrated by whites, Republicans or neocons? How do you know this isn't being done by Obama supporters to garner sympathy?

You didn't mention the other half of the race crimes because of the election. Some white people being harrassed and threatened by some blacks because there is now a black POTUS.

The local news is reporting that happening in the schools.

So, there ya go. Its happening everywhere and being perpetrated by lots of different people. Its not a problem that is exclusive to "white people".

You're surprised? During the election you had the GOP screaming "Kill him!" at Palin Rallies. During the elections you had republicans being arrested for plotting to kill him. During the election... And now after, that he has won, the GOP is out to get him. But hey, maybe Obama will end the Iraq War, why? Pull the troops out of Iraq to surround the White House as millions of Republicans load up their pick up trucks and drive to the White House to kill him. But will the army really kill tens of millions of Republicans to protect one man?

"Hate crimes" like these?:
Black Student At Trinity Wrote Racially Offensive Web Posting?
African-Americans Admit To Distributing White Supremacist Literature On UofL Campus?
Minority Student Charged with Hate Crime at Trinity University?
Black Hightower student ticketed for racial posters?
Fire Dept Suspends Black Apprentice For Noose?

The funny thing is, the Media Cartel will kick-up a fuss about nooses appearing outside a black teacher's office, "white supremacist" posts appearing on school networks etc but guess what happens when it turns out it was a black person that did it:
The story disappears, the police "do not prosecute" and the black person in question invents some tripe that he was "testing the faculty's views on race-relations"

The Media Cartel has passed the assumption that all "hate crimes" are committed by whites so perfectly onto the mindless public that if a noose, or burning cross appears anywhere roaming bands of KKK or Neo-Nazi bogeymen are immediately blamed - until it turns out, as I mentioned above, that a black student did it.

So as long as the thread beats up on Republicans, you're okay with it. But if it shows how Obama supporters were harassing a McCain supporter like in the other thread, you feel the need to derail the thread with a meaningless discussion about naming one Democrat who called Obama "The Messiah" (Louis Farrakhan did, by the way).

To everyone else out there who is not mentally challenged - there is this thread and the other about Obama supporters (a black college professor and students) harassing another student because she was a McCain supporter. They did it openly in the class and made it a point to humiliate her.

The point is that there is hate going on both sides. The extremists on the right may shout and chant with their guns and religion and the left may feign their education and self-perceived brilliance to demean and mock others, but the result is the same - you're treating fellow human beings as if they are beneath you, not like you.

Stop the hate, people. At this rate Al Qaida won't have to do anything to destroy America but sit back and watch it tear itself apart.

Every time I think I've finally got a handle on how partisan and ignorant you are, you blow me away with a gem like this.

You don't actually believe this do you? (I know you do, and that's why it's so sad)

This has nothing to do with the GOP or Republicans, yet somehow you always drag them into it. This is fear mongering, pure and simple.

Are people doing crazy things on both sides? Sure they are, but that doesn't represent the country, so stop trying to make it seem as though it does.

I thought his ignorant rhetoric was supposed to stop once Obama got elected. Weren't we all supposed to come together in support of our country?

Looks like that has gone out the window.

From what I can tell around here. It looks like the people who did not vote for Obama are the ones trying to come together and get along. Seems like the Obama supporters are the ones spreading hate and fear now.

Ironic isn't it?

Let us not forget while discussing this topic that America is filled with non-white racist. I know white racism has been a historical issue, I don’t expect people to pretend this is not the case. However America often acknowledges the racism in just white groups of people and not only is that wrong, but it makes all minorities into victims. It has to do with the person, not the race. There are many racist left in America, some are brown, some are black, some are white.
