Anhooooo...my poem:
Once when I was little, about five I'd say
While wandering outside our house one day
I spied some gum underneath my feet
I bent down and poked in awe complete
how would I claim it I thought and I wondered
To lose such treasure was surely a blunder (nice huh? pretty good so far?)
The gum was stuck and would not budge
So back to the house I determinedly trudged
To the kitchen to grab a little butter knife
Hiding it from my Mother (my Father's first wife)
Back to the gum still stuck on the ground
I patiently chipped at the edges all around
Until finally the gum was free and all mine!
What a day what a feast on prechewed gum I would dine...
*crickets*
Thank you.
It's a true story FYI - I spent all day outside scraping up gum off the sidewalk and munching away happily. The bits of gravel and dirt weren't so
bad...added texture. What was really great was when some of the gum still had FLAVOUR! Bonus!
It was all good until my mom asked where I got the gum from...
