I have read so many threads from ATS member getting pissed because people on a conspiracy board are posting things against Obama. I will agree that some are over the top, but why are so many people getting offended.

It kind of scares me that so many people are rallying behind him when he hasn't even said anything different. This whole election screamed corporate propaganda to me.

Am I the only one that sees it this way? If not then i am truly scared.

Because they are getting desperate for the answers to all of their questions. It's much easier to believe in propaganda than searching for real answers.

I've been trying to avoid Obama since I got flamed on the USSA thread for this very reason my friend. Not worth it.

The problem isn't that people are posting things about Obama. It is what they are posting and how often they are posting it.

How many different versions of "Obama is the anti-christ" do we really need? Currently we have 5 or 6. How many times do we need to hear that he is a socialist, marxist, communist....etc? Apparently we need to hear it several times a day. That is what is getting so tiresome. It is the same crap, over and over and over and over.... I would personally rather see people criticize his policies once he starts to implement them instead of telling me for the 1,000,000,000th time about what he may or may not do.

Its the 1984 syndrome. [Perceived] Complete opposite = good. He is purposefully everything Bush wasn't, at least on at first glance. Whether that is because that's who he made himself out to be, or because thats who he was "conditioned" to be, is a matter for a separate thread. Anyway, I digress.

The point is, people were tired of the fear mongering the Bush Administration perpetuated. They were SO tired of it in fact, that they blissfully, and voluntarily ignored the possibility that Obama might not be as good for this country as he wants us to think he is. However, is that to say he isn't? No.

Ill admit, I, like the rest of the people of my age group, was charmed by Obama, and I still am, even now. I didn't vote for him, nor did I vote at all, simply because I knew he was going to win.

But let him have a chance to prove himself. If anything, be proud that such a historically significant (socially speaking) thing happened in your life time.

The country is in a very unstable place, and it's going to get worse, before it gets any better, no matter who was going to be in office. Remember that.

No my friend you are spot on.

Show me ANY person on this site that actually spouts anything pro-O(BALM)A or pro-political party and you'll be seeing the NWO sheeple at work. The more they attack you the deeper their indoctrinated blind views will be. They will no doubt say the same of me (you) but I'd ask them to inform me of how much control they have over their lives, finances and future? They are the same sheeple that need religion and its derivatives to shield their base fears and give them the delusion that it will all be ok in the end!

The way I see it, people are becoming angry at the way the attacks are unfounded, a waste of time, a waste of space and an insult to intelligence.

People are starting these Obama threads to do nothing more than make wild accusations. Basically, they're p!ssed that their guy wasn't elected and now they'll dig up every tin-foil-hat scenario to try to convince others that their guy would have been the better choice!

I'm bored of it.
And I wish these people would realize that others voted for him, and their personal attacks and objections are irrelevant. These are also the same people who proclaim to be freedom-loving Americans, while trying to dictate to everyone else who they should have voted for!

And just to wind-up the McCain extremists a little more I'll say again...

McCain and Palin came across as desperate, cynical, insulting, unprofessional, impolite, offensive, nasty and, frankly, stupid.
While Obama came across as intelligent, polite, professional, charming, educated, well-balanced, determined and confident.

To an outsider, I think it's a clear choice.

This is the last Obam thread I'll visit until I see "Obama announces full UFO disclosure!" at the title

There is nothing to be alarmed about.

I think the wise members here at ATS are rallying behind logic and common sense not Obama specifically.

Can he really be a terrorist-anti-Christ-dictator-communist with a fake birth certificate?
He isn't even in office and people want an impeachment.

Offended...no, more like disappointed at the level of ignorance and uninformed opinion being generated as thread-worthy material. All those ATSers you mentioned as offended feel the same way.

Now of course people do rally behind their candidate. Just like they did for McCain. It isn't abnormal, mystical or magical. Obama doesn't have some kind of mesmerizing hold on the American people.

Not everyone likes Obama, he didn't get 100% of the American vote, you know?
If he did then you should worry.

I will be honest i haven't read all the threads, just enough to get a general grasp, so a may be wrong.

I believe this election was great sign that the majority of American people have grown up and have begun to throw away racial dispositions.

That being said is it far fetched to believe that nothing is going to change and that the election was nothing more than "American President Idol?" If people believed that someone was behind the curtains pulling the strings before, what makes now any different? Do people honestly think that the wealth would allow someone that is not going to support them to win? People who believed one thing have radically changed their viewpoint, and rally behind the establishment. I have read such pompous statements that insinuate that we are changing our viewpoint when the only people that have are them.

I think the whole thing was a sham, as do many others, and people are attacking them. That's all i am saying.

I think about %80 percent of the world population is brainwashed by corporate propaganda. If you rely on money, you might be in that %80. Its probably the oldest mental slavery scam since organized religion.

Yes, and propaganda does to your brain what KFC does to your body.

The propaganda in this election is doing what it is supposed to do- that's how "the system" works. Remember back 8, even 6 years ago, and the hardcore rightwingers, and some moderate right wingers, got all upset if you said anything bad about Bush? This happens in every election.

Previous campaigns used to use jingles, as shown here:
blog.washingtonpost.com...

Now we just use three word catch phrases, and rely on the MSM and sound bites. For some satire about voters and slogans and, in their terms, getting the "idgit" vote, here is a video from The Onion:

In The Know: Candidates Compete For Vital Idgit Vote

And just for fun, since I think you conspiracy folks will like it, here is one from the primaries about Diebold leaking the results of 2008 election:

One of the commentators on TV during election night said that the number of independent voters is growing. I for one hope that is true.
