These people know what you and I need to have and what we don't. What we need for healthcare, and what we don't. How much we should make and what we shouldn't. What we should retire with, and what they should keep. Who are we to question them?

Obviously being sarcastic. But how about this video? These congressional leaders that think we are psychos for thinking stuff is really f'd up, decide to make laws about things they know nothing about.

LOL Militia

Hahahahah.. take it from an ex Army Ranger.. these guys are so old and fat they would last about 8 minutes on the battlefield

I believe the speech given by Mr. Johnson was actually very easy to understand and very straightforward. Yet look at how the politicians reacted. And then they try to make these guys look like rogue terrorists when that isn't the case. Is that all they can do to defend their own negligence??

I honestly don't care if you are an ex Army ranger (As if that makes you some kind of authority on this topic). It isn't about how long they would last on the battlefield. It isn't about whether or not they are outnumbered. It isn't even about the weapons (as Mr. Johnson said in his speech). It isn't about ANY of that. Perhaps it is when you are an Army Ranger but it isn't when you are talking about militias. You are completely missing the point of why militias exist in the first place.

Militias don't form because people want to arm themselves against government encroachment. People form and join militias because they're pissed off and tired of being ignored. Militias are spawned from political ignorance and arrogance (The past 8 years is a classic example). They are protected by the constitution (as long as the constitution still has any authority in this country). The skyrocketing number of gun sales in this country proves that people are nervous and unsure about what is to come. The recent increase in gun sales has been talked about in many threads here on ATS.. And as long as they continue to skyrocket, we will probably continue to see militias becoming more and more popular. Especially if our problems continue to get worse.

Hi Chris.

I respect your opinion but I disagree with you.

The spike in gun sales and forming "militias" demonstrates nothing more than a lack of problem solving skills. Guns, violence, and mob rule do not solve problems. Having a gun and standing around others with guns will not get others to listen to your opinion or take you seriously. In fact, it only gets you ignored and marginalized.

Violence is the easy solution. Guns are the easy solution.

As far as my point about being an ex-Army Ranger. It has a deeper meaning, especially on Veteran's day. The hardest part of being a soldier is not the physical or emotional toll, it is doing what you are told, when you are told, when all your instinct tells you otherwise. The first thing they teach you in OCS is that a good soldier does not just give orders, he takes orders, undaunted and with no hesitation.

These militias to me do not demonstrate this notion. They show no love of "America" or action for the greater good.

Buying some cheap camos and getting a gun doesnt give you authority. It has nothing to do with soldiering or the discipline of being a warrior. When you are angry or unsure about where your country is going a courageous american does not buy a gun and bunker up.

A courageous American recognizes that words and ideas have everlasting power and approaches other American with arms and ears open to all ideas.

Have a good night.

That guys probably on a list somewhere. lol.
It's a good thing that he doesn't care.

I may have missed something but It strikes me that he does care. Being on a list somewhere is one of the things we all should be concerned about. There aren't many folks that would have the balls to speak to those clowns as he did. I'm on his side. Just bought 15 more 20 round magazines from Ruger for the Mini-14. His response to Boxers question was cutting and profound.

evry person on ATS is prolly' on one of these lists.

Not just the US members of ATS, but everyone that could come within the reach of NWO.

I hihgly doubt the US will come to blows with its self. But if you do end up in another revolution.. I'll come over & grab a Rifle & give yers a hand.. LOL

I have always been a little on the fence in regards to the modern equivalent of Militias. At times they seem to attract far too many Anarchists who wish for nothing more than to topple our current system of Governance. However, on the other hand, groups such as the Minutemen and others have finally begun to enforce the sovereignty of America, and tackle the Policy issues which the vast majority of Americans feel strongly about, but which our Representatives fail to take action upon.

I for one believe that clarification is necessary when most Americans state that: "I am sick and tired of the Government". In reality, it is frustration and anger focused upon our Politicians, such as our Representatives. It however is not anger, nor frustration, towards the countless Men and Women who serve this Nation in a Governmental Capacity of Employment. If it were not for these Men and Women, we would have no Nation as is, and we would very likely descend into complete chaos, utter disarray, and thus collapse as a Society. So I do feel we should differentiate between Politicians, and "The Government" as it relates to everyday Federal Employees.

Just to expand on what I said before.

If the power of your ideas relies upon you holding a gun chances are your ideas have no power.

Americans like me, who have served in the military, recognize that when you are unhappy with your country you don't buy a gun and demand attention.

I wonder how many of these militia mean have served anything other than their own ideals and opinions.

This "army Ranger " Ret guy has me flabargasted. I served for six years and I didn't swear an oath to blindly follow orders. I swore an oath to defend the consitution from all enemies, foreign and domestic. I was involved with naval intelligence and now work for the NSA in certain capacities and I have to say that I agree with Johnson.

It is not patriotic to blindly follow anyone. It is patriotic to be aware of and defend the constitution, even at huge odds against you.

I have confidence that most of our military is not a blind follower of orders and is actually aware of the constitution and our role as citizens in defending it.

I honestly hope that the people that currently hold the offices of power in our government wake up and realize that what makes America great are its citizens and their unwillingness to take fascism or socialism or communism standing down and that what makes them great are their willingness to stand up and defend the constitution from domestic enemies as well as foreign enemies.

We cannot let ourselves be railroaded into unconstitutional legislation or executive orders. We, as a nation, allowed it to happen with income taxes. PLease don't let fear allow you to let it continue to be eroded until what we are left with is a totalitarian govenrment that has complete control over us.

The TSA is completely unconstitutional. The patriot act is completely unconstitutional. income tax ( aside from the amendment that we were railroaded into) is unconstitutional.

We need to demand that unconstitutional legislation be done away with. We should elect opposing cnadidates to replace any candidates that don't do away with unconstitutional legislation or executive orders.

If opposing candidates continue to allow unconstitutional legislation to remain, or even worse, pass further legislation that further erodes our constitutional rights, then we need to have militias with ARMS to make sure that those who have usurped our political process do not go unchecked.

The first three words of our consitution say it all..... "We the people"

With hope of peace and the continuation of our most beloved document
