Since all he has to do is show the friggin' papers and there is no more issue, there has to be a reason why he hasn't. The thing with this to me is, one of two things is happening here, and neither really floats my boat.

Either, One: He doesn't have the papers in question. Hew was born in Kenya and has propagated a multi-million dollar scam on the american people. For wich he should rot in a hole in some prison somewhere for the next 20 to 40.

Or, Two: He does have the papers, and is so egotistical that he doesn't feel 'obligated' to show them unless forced to. Not nearly as bad as the first possibility, but still despicable to the everyman on the street. So he feels like he shouldn't HAVE to jump through the same hoops we have to in order to get a job? If I have to prove my citizenship just to get a job flipping burgers, then he should have to prove it to hold the highest office in the land. Period. It all boils down to respect. If he respected the American People he woulda taken care of this crap months ago.

If this were such a 'non-issue' as the one poster claimed, then why doesn't he just cough it up? There seems to be alot of assuming going on in respects to this issue. People just assume he was vetted when he started his run for office. My thought being, if your average person can assume such a thing, why is it such a leap to think that the people involved didn't just assume the same thing. I could just see some guy going: "He has to be eligible for the Presidency, he's a Senator after all, right? Right?" That could be one possiblility as to why this hasn't already been cleared up. 'Cause some shmoe was supposed to verify it, and he/she didn't, and what do you got 'cause of it? All of this claptrap about his eligibility. What really kinda gets me is that people assume the government is infallible, or that's the impression I get. Like they don't make mistakes....

Ran a search and can't find this anywhere that doesn't use API as the source. So most likely, assuming the info other posters have dug up about API is correct, the article isn't worth the page it's printed on.

Like I've said in numerous other threads, he needs to just show the vault copy of his birth certificate to the judge and get it over with already. Either it says he was born in Hawaii or it doesn't and either way the wait is getting tiresome. Most likely it does say Hawaii so his reasoning for stalling Berg's lawsuit and trying to dismiss instead of just showing the vault copy and settling the whole thing once and for all is beyond my comprehension apparently.

Would be a kick in the pants to him and his supporters if this article is true though.

Actually, that would not be as easy as one might be led to believe. Here is the Amendment Process as laid out by our Constitution:

If any such legal disqualification were brought against the President-Elect, it would be quickly "heard" and "decided" by the U.S. Supream Court.

And that would settle the "question" once and for all.

I had to track down your post, to see why you were getting dissed. I'd say now, I have to agree. BO has pulled a major scam, UNLESS he wasn't even aware that he is not a citizen. He may not have realized it. But if he knew, and I think he probably did, then he has been lying vociferously. The only problem with a bureaurat lying, is when they get caught. And he got caught. The SOP is that he gets the boot now. Not because he is a Communist, or because he is black, but because he got caught lying. In this country, politicians are not forgiven for getting caught when they lie. Everyone knows they lie like a rug, but if they get caught, they are inept politicians. I have no idea what is going to happen, but it will be big, and it will be soon. Interesting.

The site you give has a date of 1997. If that was the new law, what was the law at the time of his birth? That is the law that would apply, not this one. Even if he were legal, he LIED in a big way, before he was even inaugerated. What does this tell you?

In Australia here, the politicians lie just about everytime they talk, it is like we all know that the Australian politicians lie in the open-public all the time. The average Australian would think 'who cares' and 'who gives a shat'.

As in many orignially (free) countries, honesty and service to ones government (mainly its people) was an honored position. Unfortunately in the US as in Austrialia lying is an accepted attribute of our public figures and it is so common that it has dulled the public's senses to (violence, porn..and other "social ills). O'bama's banner leading him to the presidency was " A time of change". Well if he was lying then its all a lie including changes to get our government back on track.

If Obama would just release the original Birth Certificate - not a computer copy of some certificate of birth through a left wing internet site - this could all go away. It's not that hard to do and the people of the USA have a right to see documentation of his legitimacy to be POTUS.

There would be riots of major proportions if Obama suddenly was told he could not be President. The United States would turn into something none of us want to even think about.

No matter what the 'truth' is, Obama will be sworn in as our next President in January 2009 as planned.

I honestly pray that you are wrong. But then I have to remember how utterly BRAINLESS the american masses can be. There's a reason our forefathers wrote in the constitution that only american born citizens can be president, so foreigners didn't take office and bring down the country to the ground.

That's why you should care. Vote the lying bums out of office. The people who make decisions that affect you and your family should be held accoutable for their actions. I loved my time in Australia but I haven't been there in about 11 years. Most would talk politics with you over a beer and seemed interested. Maybe this last war in Iraq has changed the attitude of the people there?

Exactly what many people have been saying. Why has he not done this? It would put everything to rest immediately. And your right about what was released. Many on here still scream that the document is proof when it's absolutely not.

Agreed, there is a process and it works. Especially for those cases that you have listed.

We are not ruled by a dicatator yet. The checks and balances placed by our founding fathers have worked great.

Unfortunately a lot of those checks and balances won't be in place in the near future. One party has control of the Executive and Legislative branches again. The vast majority of the Judicial branch sides with that party with a liberal view of the law.

It looks that way on the surface, but look deeper and you will find a Democratic Senate which is at odds with the bipartisanship that Obama brings.

He's already telling Reid not to punish Liberman but to allow himto continue to caucus with the Dems.

The legislative branch, although ran by a majority of dems, isn't yet in the pocket of the executive branch.

I hear people here repeatedly saying why don't the Obama people just release the original and put this to rest. Well, I don't think there is anything to put to rest. This topic appears only on fantasy conspiracy sites. If the Obama camp stopped and specifically addressed every little conspiracy, they would have no time to do anything else.

McCain and Palin tried every dirty trick in the book and then some. You have to beleieve that if there was anything to this birth issue they would have been all over it. And you can bet they heard about it and had it looked into.

There will be no need for any changes to the Constitution. The Hawaiian documents will suffice to show Obama is a US citizen. Why would anyone give credence to an imam when we have state documents. You may argue that they are forged, fiddled, diddled and otherwise pencil whipped but you all know that it will do no good.
This will go on forever on conspiracy sites and will ebb and flow as people rediscover the issue. Just another 100mpg car that runs on water. Get used to an Obama presidency.

I truly hope Obama doesn't let Congress run over him. If he is siding with Lieberman that is a good sign. Congress already has the lowest approval rating in history. They may bring Obama down with them if Obama doesn't follow their lead and pass bills that they send to him.
