Story

Want to see where everyone thinks we will end up with this type of procedure in the future?

Can this be used eventually to kinda of "freeze" you in time, to slow aging?

I think that is exactly where the tests would be headed; especially if they are doing this in animals now?

They have been freezing people in Russia with snow, in order to do major surgeries, for years. They literally pack the patient in snow, to lower the body temperature, to a state of near death. Then they can do their surgeres without anesthetic or other drugs which are unavailable.

I know in the article they use a similar technique but it is a slow process;

The thing is; maybe, how different is this slush? ANd what's the longest they can keep the organ cool?

This tells a little bit about the length of time the heart can be cool for:
ARTICLE

It's only a start for immediate coolings; I wonder with the Russians how long they could keep them cool without damage to revive?

Tells a little more about thermodynamics

You should reference the original source article, which has more science fiction possibilities, at www.technovelgy.com...

Nice article; I probably have been in the dark about this stuff. It is amazing some of the things that can be done. I sometimes feel they sneak new or reinvented things out into the media every once and a while; maybe not to shock everyone at once?

Another article about the ice slurry but also about the issues with resuscitation:

Rapid Cooling Technique

I think this updated process can save lives but think about what else they can do with this time or what other research will stem from this ability?
