The solution for GM is very simple, pull a Reagan.

1) Declare bankruptcy and bankrupt the common shareholder.

2) Fire everybody - especially management.

3) Offer the previous employees the chance to re-apply for their previous jobs, but only 60% will be hired.

4) The salary is now $18.25/hr plus a nominal medical package.

5) 40% of capacity is cut immediately.
