Thank you for the links!

I read over a couple, and while he at least has information still posted on the first site you mentioned, the information posted has differences compared with what were listed on the change.gov site. Key differences in my opinion, such as the change form a requirement to a goal for service. I don't know if the site you provided was updated since the .gov site controversy or not.

They will develop national guidelines for service- learning and will give schools better tools both to develop programs and to document student experience. Green Job Corps: Obama and Biden will create an energy-focused youth jobs program to provide disadvantaged youth with service opportunities weatherizing buildings and getting practical experience in fast-growing career fields.

Thank goodness... this is exactly what our Country needs.

* Expand YouthBuild Program: Obama and Biden will expand the YouthBuild program, which gives disadvantaged young people the chance to complete their high school education, learn valuable skills and build affordable housing in their communities. They will grow the program so that 50,000 low-income young people a year a chance to learn construction job skills and complete high school.

Yet another great program. I hope to see something where they teach folks how to run a business as well.

* Require 100 Hours of Service in College: Obama and Biden will establish a new American Opportunity Tax Credit that is worth $4,000 a year in exchange for 100 hours of public service a year.
* Promote College Serve-Study: Obama and Biden will ensure that at least 25 percent of College Work-Study funds are used to support public service opportunities instead of jobs in dining halls and libraries.

Man I am so happy we elected these two.

God Bless America!

"to end the war in Iraq responsibly and finish our mission in Afghanistan"
Wow during his campaign the statement clearly was "We will end that war in Iraq".
A definite statement we will end it.
Why the sudden turn around to "we will end it responsibly"?
That kind of gives an open ended period to end it now doesn't it?
In fact that says they don't even have to end it at all, however they deem the term "Responsibly" is how they will decide to end it.
Funny how things change immediately after they get elected.
They are all criminals and liars.

It doesn't matter, unless a new deal is struck with the Iraqis the war in Iraq ends January 1st, 2009(The United Nations Timeline). While I don't agree with the united nations, when that timeline goes off, it'll be illegal for our Miliatary to step off a base.

Even if we do leave there, responsibly, it's not like we'll be completely gone. We'll leave advisors, miliatary forces to continue training there, and we'll still have bases there. Just like we still have bases in Japan, Germany, North Korea, etc... etc... etc...

Plus do you tink our presence will ever not be known there. Here's a quote about our embassy there:

The fortress-like compound rising beside the Tigris River here will be the largest of its kind in the world, the size of Vatican City, with the population of a small town, its own defense force, self-contained power and water, and a precarious perch at the heart of Iraq's turbulent future.

www.commondreams.org...
www.cnn.com...
www.globalresearch.ca...
Size of the freaking Vatican with 5,500 employees.

To sources to those on the right that 'won't read that George Soros backed crap'.

P.S. Can we call it was this is. It's a occupation not a war. The Objectives have been met, we took over, found and brought Saddam to justice(sorta) and established a new government with a freaking surplus.
Now afghanistan that's a war, never saw any mission accomplished banners there.

Actually, I would recommend 'Obama Propaganda Agent'

Changing your platform after you get elected in order to ensure that you can't be called out on all the broken promises your going to see through:

That's change we can believe in.

If I may suggest a url, I was successful at finding Obama's Blueprint for change layed out in pdf. That's 46 pages of promises for you. Get your copies! The real questions stem from something I read

Blueprint from barackobama.com

Funny, call it a manifesto and your crazy, but a blueprint? Well now that's just good sense. Ron Paul, I love you but why did you call your book of change a manifesto? I agree whole heartedly with your ideas that radical sweeping change needs to occur, but manifesto conjurs up a certain imagery.

I do agree though, that it is suspect to pull pages down as such, and to notify google to clear their caches like that is suspect. But it could just as easily been them logging into google and telling them to re-spider the page. Not really anything suspect on Google, but it wouldn't come as surprise to me.

For anyone looking for archives I have a great .org to share with you all. I read an article in popular science I think years back about the first company to break the exabyte barrier (thousands of petabytes, or millions of gibabytes to put that into perspective. The Wayback Machine sponsored by archive.org

The Internet Archive, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, is building a digital library of Internet sites and other cultural artifacts in digital form. Like a paper library, we provide free access to researchers, historians, scholars, and the general public.

Man if you want to take a trip, just wayback your way to Obama's page in 2004 when he ran for senate. And the wayback machine has headlines on the 2004 archive saying

The New York Times declares 'A New Democratic Star Is Born'

sadly though, archive.org takes forever to compress and archive, so they estimate that the archived obama pages will be up in 6 months.

The Wayback Machine tool was not designed for legal use. We do have a legal request policy found at our legal page. Please read through the entire policy before contacting us with your questions. We do have a standard affidavit as well as a FAQ section for lawyers. We would prefer that before you contact us for such services, you see if the other side will stipulate instead. We do not have an in-house legal staff, so this service takes away from our normal duties. Once you have read through our policy, if you still have questions, please contact us for more information.

Please use the Wayback Machine responsibly. This service allows users to see archived versions of web pages of the past—what the Archive calls a "three dimensional index". Not all webpages are available, however, because many website owners voluntarily exclude their sites.

So what is the big deal about changing a "campaign website"? It's not really needed anymore. I like how most of you people find these petty issues that much of a problem. Instead of dealing with the raw hardcore issues you instead look for errors and deceit of one and make way to call it out. That's retarded. So instead of dealing with the issues at hand you really are looking for stipulation from President-elect Obama. Why don't you accept the fact that he is going to be your president and things are going to change for the better of it all. Instead of this paper chasing fringe that's going on here why don't you just let it go and talk about "resolving differences". And thank God that McCain conceded. I could just picture all of you supporters hiding behind your yellow magnetic ribbons made in China. Yeah. That's right. That's the kind of support our troops need. Absolutely ridiculous and pathetic.

Oh and don't worry when things don't stay the same on the internet. It's called progress. You know like in a constant evolving world. Things like that tend to happen.

Sorry but no, deleting the agenda that was promised by the president elect isn't progress.

prog·ress (prgrs, -rs, prgrs) n. 1. Movement, as toward a goal; advance. 2. Development or growth: students who show progress.

Progress would be defined as a perpetual movement toward a goal or some sort of advancement. By deleting his agenda his is only taking a step back. He is showing us that he wasn't prepared to do what he set out to. Him going back on his issues will show the nation that his isn't confident in his own abilities. I doubt that any of that would be defined as being progress.......

Who cares? It's the internet. You rely on that website for an agenda. Great. Well I can see forward now that the world is really coming to an end. Maybe I should rush out to the store now and pick up one of those yellow magnet ribbons for my car to support the troops. You know everyday that I get on the road burning it up people are going to see that yellow ribbon. I'll be supporting the troops. Then I'll have to rewrite my blog and upload new pictures.

Congratulations OP! You caught the beginning of the most secret Presidency ever, and he hasn't even taken office yet. There are other changes out there. Remember Trinity Church Chicago and the Reverend Wright? Well, guess what! They got an all new website too! I guess everyone is "retooling" these days.

He's not even President yet and is already delivering abrupt ends to "Press Conferences" when he's painted into a corner (by that, I mean when he is asked a simple YES or NO question). A reporter the other day asked Obama if he was still planning on raising taxes and, of course, Obama goes into this long diatribe about his tax plan then abruptly ends the Conference (without ever answering the question).

We haven't seen nothing yet.

Start taking screen shots. I think a lot of other stuff will eventually "dissappear".

Well if you go by the definition of Propaganda:
2: the spreading of ideas, information, or rumor for the purpose of helping or injuring an institution, a cause, or a person
3: ideas, facts, or allegations spread deliberately to further one's cause or to damage an opposing cause ; also : a public action having such an effect

Is it propaganda when I try to give multiple sources often?
And I guess if I have to, I fight propaganda with propaganda. Going by the definition that is.

Also to the poster above, I believe part of his answer was.
'It's a net tax decrease' Meaning most peoples tax's will be decreased, thank you come again.

Is that the full level of your intellect? The very first thing you have to contribute on this thread is how the situation is retarded. The situation being , (AS ALL POLITICIANS BEFORE HIM WHY IS ANYONE SURPRISED!?!!) Obama promised whatever it took to win and now that he is the winner it is time to do damage control on all those lofty promises he can not keep.

No one single man could in our system... unless this IS INDEED a dictatorship.

The service thing. Like I said it has already been instituted in a Republican controlled state, with no benefit other than for 100hours of service we get that last credit hour to graduate.
The only change I noticed in that article is that they included the fact that Obama said for that service you will not have to pay for a set amount of college.
By what I can tell is they havn't fleshed out these ideas completely and are revising them.
And I will repeat again, we are required in Florida to perform community service to graduate highschool and only earning 1 credit hour for this. I think other states require this also.

Now last time I checked with 'Liberal' talk shows, a local liberal Radio Personality, Randi Rhodes. Has been on down here many years, in fact locally she was drawing so much of the ratings away from Limbaugh, they brought her show to the same radio stations as Rush(l1290 wjno owned by clear channel).
So she would no longer be directly going head to head with him, if you check our political persuasions in Palm beach county and south this is believable, however I can't find ratings for the single shows going back to the late 90's. Clear Channel wouldn't syndicate her show and when given the oppertunity went on Air America, poorly managed as it might be. Considering she has only been on the radio nationally 5 years, and in not even close to as many stations as rush, she has gotten to number 15, 1 million listeners. Right now Glenn Beck is on in the morning, then Rush, then Randi then Sean Hannity. Now myself I like hearing to both sides of the argument, so while I work I listen to all of them(and post on ATS, ah life in technical support). So to say the success of all the Conservatives is because of how good they are, but because ClearChannel has a monopoly and that's there political persuasion. Just trying to prove a point. I think the easiest way to settle it is to ensure in every market there are three radio stations, one for liberals, republicans and independent parties, that would be true 'fairness'.

Onto the Fairness doctrine, he appointed a former FCC chair who supported a then 32 year old practice. I don't see the Supreme Court overthrowing Roe Vs. Wade, a now 32 year old practice (that has more to do with the respecting verdicts held before you, I forget the exact wording I havn't taken a law class in 2 years).
But guess what Obama has to stand up to the Democratic congress and the Fairness Doctrine would be a perfect way to do it. They tried to overrun and take control of Bill Clintons executive branch and that got the Republicans elected in 1994(among other things). I don't think Democrats or Obama are going to go down that same road again. And trust me I will be the first one to say you were right when the fairness doctrine is passed, but I don't believe it will be, and I have shown you Obama doesn't support it.

Onto your point about the the tax issue. While our economy was doing relatively well, and on it's way to the DJIA record a year ago. I mentioned we had dissproportionate tax cuts. Supported by this image.

Now that our economy is in ruins and the middle class is being squeezed like never before. Wouldn't it be fair to give a tax break to the lower 95%, who can't afford a increase in tax's, and need a decrease? While moderately raising the % upper income 250k is not socialism.

Now I've looked up several different versions of the tax calulator Obama opposed to McCain. Me who makes $35,000 a year(salary) 45-50 hours a week and insurance would get a $400-600 tax cut depending on the calculator. My father who makes $150,000, would get between $1800-$2200.
It's not like dissproportionately helping the poor, my father is in the top 6-8% last time I checked.

In fact progressive taxing has been practiced since 1912. Here's the Maximum rates.
www.truthandpolitics.org...
So are you saying we were socialists from 1932 to 1986?

My state does not require service in college. I don't agree with volunTOLD. If the Republicans got that passed in Florida, then shame on them.

As for the talk radio 'imbalance.' I think that the audience that follows the popular majority of talk radio agrees with the information their, or at least likes the discussion on the issues. Air America wasn't as successful and that is partly due to the audience. While I would like to see a more diverse talk radio group, I don't like the idea of the government deciding what is fair or equal. I think the audience can provide for that by advertising support and listenership.

We both agree that Obama has stated he opposes the Fairness Doctrine, I just disagree with you on what I think he will actually do. Now, I don't see him actively pursuing it, but I surely don't think he will deny it should it appear on his desk nicely packaged from the Congress. But as you have said, let's wait and see.
