Why do most UFO's stay away from Major Cities?

I've been watching YouTube videos, reading countless articles and reports and really keeping my ears pealed for UFO stories happening around the globe.

One common string I find is that they rarely appear in major cities.

I would imagine that this is because they might risk a higher "panic factor" that would go against the grain of working in agreement with our government.

Its always been a belief of mine that any intelligent race outside of Earth would at this stage in our evolution have to take our ability to destroy a little more seriously. While most advanced races from other star systems could probably eradicate Earth with a couple of small ships, out understanding for Nuclear destruction is a threat to any living thing.

So I wonder if they (for the most part) stick to smaller cities and more rural areas that wouldn't be as susceptible to a mass panic (where as appearing in New York city would cause the opposite).

Who knows?

What do you think?

well i have always thought about this and the answer i came up with is this:

if they are here for research:

when you are trying to capture an animal do you run into a herd of them and risk being attacked and trampled or do you look for the loner and pick him out?
its jsut easier for them to learn about us by abducting one at a time.

If they are here for Invasion:
a good invasion is sneaky. you dont send all your troops into the center of the battlefield instead you set them off in the woods by the battleground. same goes here they land there ships in secluded areas and then surprise attack us.

thats what i got

Actually, judging by the literature, there are eye-witness accounts of different phenomena.

Phenomena #1: abduction - I think it is also interesting that experiments conducted with both '___' by injections (also naturally produced by the brain during sleep), and also magnetic fields (see the Monroe institute) have simulated this experience.

Phenomena #2: craft sightings - mostly occur around military sites of nuclear interest or along the corridors between military sites.

It is also interesting to note that all of this is done in a covert way.

So put the pieces together:
1) Psychological models of intrusion
2) Interest in / or related to / strategic military assets
3) Covert (sneaky) behavior

What this all adds up to is not certain, but it doesn't sound good.

I would feel a whole lot better if they would just say what this is all about, but it smacks of espionage to me.

I was thinking the same, if they're here for research, they're only going to show up where they can cause only a slight murmur, whereas flying over LA or Boston would make a scream.
If they're making ready for invasion, then they're likely gathering intel. In military tactics one won't just jump off into the main establishments of the enemy, they'll see what they're capable of first.
I'd always thought though, that they'd use a sort of blitzkrieg tactic. Shooting at us first with any big guns they might have before touching down and hitting us with ground forces.
Hopefully not though, I don't want to get blasted with some big alien gun before even seeing them before hand.

Could be anything...

I, for example, hate the big cities because of the smell, the traffic, higher rates of criminality, the sense of coldness that surrounds almost everything, the consumerism usually evident.... but that's just me... but hey, an advanced alien race probably would not like this either, right?

It's quite simple really.

There is more baron land than big cities. The percentage is greater for them not to appear over a big city.

Maybe I'm just really thick, but I always thought the reason was that in major cities you tend to physcially see less sky at any one time and to see the sky you tend to have to consiously look up, but in more rural areas you tend to see the sky in your line of vision more without acutally looking up, so people may notice 'strange' things more often.

I understand that this line of reasoning is flawed but just a simple thought.

That does make a lot of sense though.

Maybe they dont stay away, but are just less noticeable with all the light pollution. Just like how you notice a hell of a lot more stars when your out in the country. Also like someone else mentioned, you see less sky in towns and cities with all the buildings etc. towering above.

I also belive smoke pollution and co2 pollution has something to do with it. Which probably sounds daft when your talking about something that can travel through space lol.

Or,
perhaps there are simply more witnesses who realize that what they are seeing is not unidentifiable.

I personally am of the opinion that not only are they "in" on the cover-up, but they are actually enforcing it. By which I mean they have had contact with representatives of our governments (or black agencies) and insisted (threatened?) that their presence here be kept hidden from the general populace.

With this in mind, not appearing overtly in major population centres is self-explanitory.

Or... light pollution and smog create conditions in larger cities where objects in the sky aren't as readily noticeable?

save the big cities for the BIG EVENT.

oh and have you ever googled "the batttle of los angeles" ?

en.wikipedia.org...

The Battle of Los Angeles is the name given by contemporary news agencies to a sighting of one or more unidentified flying objects which took place from late February 24 to early February 25, 1942 in which eyewitness reports of an unknown object or objects over Los Angeles, California, triggered a massive anti-aircraft artillery barrage. The Los Angeles incident occurred less than three months after America's entry into World War II as a result of the attack on Pearl Harbor. Initially the target of the aerial barrage was thought to be an attacking force from Japan, but it was later suggested to be a lost weather balloon, a blimp, a Japanese fire balloon or psychological warfare technique, staged for the benefit of coastal industrial sites, or even an extraterrestrial aircraft. The true nature of the object or objects remains unknown.

probably early Nazi bell craft testing straight up from New Berlin in Antarctica.
